New firmware for BTC BCE1610IM - Club CDFreaks

I recently had problems writing to CD-RWs using a BTC BCE1610IM.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a new firmware anywhere.

A mail to BTC in Taiwan solved my problem. They gave me a contact at BTC in Europe and now I've got a new firmware and a CD-writer that works with CD-RWs !

If anybody needs this firmware (0.20) I'll be happy to provide it.

BTW is there any way I can post the new firmware here ??

You cannot add attachments here. You can email me the file as I requested on the rpc1.org forums, Arzeno can publish it there. I wonder how your drive is related to a BCO1612IM...

Step, I received the file from him and I'll email it in exchange for a backup of your current firmware. To back up, use mtkflash in real DOS (see my page)

My drive is a Digital Research 16x10x40 OEM version. Originally had the 0.19 firmware.

I've got a BTC BCE1610IM cdwriter that isn't recognising any cd's I put in it, it also can't burn because it doesnt realise it has a cd in it.

I'm running XP I don't have DOS how can I fix it?

I couldn't find a solution to it so recently I bought a new cd-writer sony one from tekheads £20 + vat & p+p = £26.
