My exprence on DRW1004

Hi,

Just want to share my exprence on using BTC's DRW1004.

I brought the drive last week, first I use DVD+R(SKY) & DVD+RW(Imation) to burn disk and it's perfect,!

Two days before I get some DVD-R(Imation) & a DVD-RW(SKY) disk, then the problem rise!

I try use nero 6 to burn a ISO image to the DVD-R & DVD-RW, the nero hang after a while and result is there was a little circle burn on the disk.

After that I upgrade frimeware to 47, same problem again. So I try to use another software this time (Alcohol 120%), and the result is I can burn the same ISO image onto the DVD-R disk with no problem!

But when I try to erase the DVD-RW disk both erase utiltity (Nero & Alcohol 120%) CANNOT erase the DVD-RW, so I can't test the DVD-RW (I only got ONE -RW disk), I will post the result here when I get a new DVD-RW disk or can find a way to erase the disk.

PS : The scuess DVD-R burn by Alcohol 120% is the same disk which fail on Nero 6, even the laser burn a circle on the disk (The program said it a blank disk), so I trust that this is not a media problem, it just the burning program problem.

Hopes it help!

Try using the option "Ignore illegal TOC" in Alcohol 120%

My friend and i have tested a PRINCO 1-2x Ver.1.1 DVD-RW on both burners with up-to-date FW:
- LDW-411S
- BTC-1004IM
NOT functional --> Most PRINCO Media are absolutely crap.

No problems with TDK's and others so far
