IDE1008 giving me fits.

I've taken an IDE1008 (not sure of manufacturer) out of a working system (Win2K) and put it into a WinXP system. It worked fine till I moved it. When I first booted new system, Windows didn't even see the drive, much less Premier Pro, or Roxio. Flashed the Mobo bios, and now the bios sees it. But Premier and Roxio still don't see it. Funny thing, Windows Media Player sees it, and I can burn CD's, but that's as far as it goes. I flashed the firmware in the drive thinking that it might communicate with the Mobo bios better, but I was wrong. I've spent hours and hours researching this, and can't really find where anyone has the same symptoms. I'm not a novice at all. I'm a repair tech, and have done all the obvious stuff, (checked for DMA, updated drivers etc.). I really think it's a driver issue, but can't find any newer ones than the ones that came with WinXP.
Any Ideas????

Hi MediaGuy and welcome to the forums,

this sounds indeed a bit strange and actually I don't have idea where I can be sure that it will fix your problem. Here are a few thoughts what you could try (if you don't have already).

- have you uninstalled and reinstalled Roxio and Premier
- try to delete the IDE channel in device manager and let windows reinstall when you reboot
