I really need this firmware 'cause I'm starting to lose my patience with this burner. Just got a good deal on some Memorex DVD+RW 1X-4X media and guess what - it's not supported by firmware

I want a new firmware, please

Hi Marco
Any news on the next firmware release 0046 or 0047. I really need this firmware 'cause I'm starting to lose my patience with this burner. Just got a good deal on some Memorex DVD+RW 1X-4X media and guess what - it's not supported by firmware 0043 or 0045. Aaargh! Yeah, I know I should have checked the compatibility list, BUT since it's not quite up to date anyway I took the chance.

Guess this is just one out of many medias not supported by the BTC. I am starting to regret that I didn't go for a NEC 1300 dual instead or even a LiteOn LDW-411S dual (same chipset as BTC but apparently much better firmware/write strategies). If the next firmware doesn't solve things for me, the BTC is going down the drain so to speak. The media support is just not good enough and even on supported media, some write strategies seem unoptimized.

MID code problems with 0045:
1) MID=TYG01: unreadable in other equipment. Fine with 0043
2) MID=PHILIPS.041: not supported I guess, since I can only select 5.1X as burning speed in Nero and Alcohol. Tried it with 0043, 4X selectable, but unreadable in other equipment
3) MID=BeAll.G00001: supported in 0045 but I can't write 2 discs in a row - the second fails. Have to reboot Windows between burning.

So neither 0043 nor 0045 are useable for me.

Sorry if this posting seems a little negative. As you know I have been very active in this forum, and I like to think that I have helped promoting the BTC drive in a positive way. However I think it's one step forward, 2 steps back at the moment. If you have a beta firmware > 0045 please let me give a try. I need it bad!

Best regards,
Peter
