DVDRW-IDE1108 will not read DVD RW, Rs - Club CDFreaks

Just a little history that may help troublshooting:

I had to replace my motherboard sure to constant problems with the last. I replaced the MB with an ASUS (not the same as orginal). Everything worked fine after reloading windows XP home addition except...

The DVDRW-IDE1108 will burn DVD RWs, and Rs but will not see them. If I take the same DVD after verification fails to another computer with a DVD player, I can see the files that just had burned from the DVDRW-IDE1108.

So here I am asking the Wise people here what gives?

It has B430 firmware on it.

Well you won't believe it, but as soon as I replaced my computer power supply, it started to work again. You see, I had been waiting for a higher wattage power supply mail order. I got it today and install it and the it would recognize the DVDs again. Something is still a little flaky though as it fails verification after burning but then when I look, all the files are there and intact. I changed out the cable and that didn't seem to help. This drive is only 5 months old. Tht's not very long for a drive to last. I've burned all of maybe 15 DVD with it since new.
