| DVDRW 1004 drive broken? One day I turned on my computer and the drive decided not to read regular CDs. I tried updating the firmware but it was the same problem. For the sake of arguement, I tried a DVD and it was read just fine. Any idea what's goin on here? The drive is a slave on IDE1 Firmware tried 0042 -> 0051. This was updated using LiveUpdate. |

| Re: DVDRW 1004 drive broken? sounds like your drive is broken, there where problems with fw´s before 0043 (i think). after some time the drives where no longer able to read dvd´s, if you have warranty bring the drive to your dealer for an exchange.
