The MID is "Plasmon1C01". I don't think it is supported by 1008 ATM. E-mail BTC to ask support for this media!

I don't think you should be too hopeful, here. Despite the list of 8x media on the support list, the CD Freaks review lab has found only 2 (ricohjpnr02 and prodisc 03) that produce good results.

Furthermore, if the 1008 has similar 8x burn speeds as the 1108, it will be one of the slowest around. You'll use up the extra time you saved in burning by trying to verify if the quality is acceptable.

Judging by postings on this forum, there are not many people burning at 8x with the 1008. I think BTC needs a MAJOR firmware update before this will happen.

Fro now, the 4x speed is definitely the safer speed with the 1008 drive. A major firmware upgrade would be nice that would fix some of these issues.

Ok ! Thanks a lot.
I can burn at only 1x with this kind of DVD+R (Prodye 8x) !!!
So, for instant i don't want to burn specially at 8x, i just want to burn at 4x !!!
Is it possible with a new FW ?

... and i wrote to BTC for this ...

Maybe you could try the Speedhacking tool to enable this. Preliminary testing showed that the 4x to 8x didn't work well at all. Perhaps though enabling 4x on 2x discs would be more promising.

Te problem is that the media isn't supported by the firmware at all. So, for unknown media (i.e. no writing strategies for that media avaliables), writing speed is automatically limited to 1x, while the disc couldbe written up to 8x. I think that in this case what nymo needs is just a firmware update to support this kind of media.
