Despite the list of 8x media on the support list, the CD Freaks review lab has found only 2 (ricohjpnr02 and prodisc 03) that produce good results. Furthermore, if the 1008 has similar 8x burn speeds as the 1108, it will be one of the slowest around. You'll use up the extra time you saved in burning by trying to verify if the quality is acceptable. Judging by postings on this forum, there are not many people burning at 8x with the 1008. I think BTC needs a MAJOR firmware update before this will happen. |

| Re: DVD+R Prodye 8x ... MID CODE ?? Maybe you could try the Speedhacking tool to enable this. Preliminary testing showed that the 4x to 8x didn't work well at all. Perhaps though enabling 4x on 2x discs would be more promising. |
