Re: Cant Update Firmware

Hi and welcome at CDF,

have you installed any nvidia ide drivers? If yes uninstall them and use the M$ standard drivers.
Nvidia IDE drivers can cause such problems.

Re: Cant Update Firmware

Hi, I had the same problem as you do and spent about a month trying to flash my 1008 on my abit nf7s. I never figured out why it wouldn't install and I ended up putting the player on another older computer and flashing it from there. Its probably your ide drivers or maybe the sata drive might have cause a problem. I would suggest flash from another computer (if possible), it would save you alot of time.
Good luck, BCox

Re: Cant Update Firmware

i was also unable to update the firmware (054) for my drw1008im drive and i was not able to burn dvds successfully. my computer has an nvidia nforce2 mb. i tried languna's advice and used another computer (non nvidia) and the firmware (0159) updated without problems. it seems to be burning dvds fine now.

thank you all for the help.

Re: Cant Update Firmware

If you have a NFORCE motherboard, most likely it's the nvidia drivers causing all the problems. Like the earlier post, uninstall nvidia ide drivers and install the MS ones.
