| Burning Problems with Emprex 8x Bit of a newbie... Bought an Emprex 8x, had no real problems with it for a while. Until I found out that it wasn't supposed to take 45 mins+ to burn a DVD ![]() Did a quick google search, found here, read a large amount of threads and took some advice. Upgraded to latest firmware, download ASPI and checked all the usual things (DMA etc.). Restarted and tried burning again. Much faster, burned whole DVD in about 8 mins. However I'm now getting lots of problems (Using multiple types of media). The last file on most DVDs is corrupt in some way (If it's a TV series for example then the last episode is corrupt and either judders or crashes entirely). I'm getting errors when burning discs a 'lot', such as the below... 12:29:02 #26 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 5710 Drive: DVDRW IDE1108 Book Type request [BTC]: DVD+R Changing the Book Type was finished successfully, return code 0 12:29:02 #27 CDR -1135 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1909 Write error DVDRW IDE1108\H1 T1 12:29:02 #28 TRANSFER -24 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1909 Could not perform end of Disc-at-once 12:29:52 #29 Phase 127 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Generating DVD high compatibility borders 12:29:52 #30 Phase 129 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Generating DVD borders completed successfully 12:29:52 #31 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 5710 Drive: DVDRW IDE1108 Book Type request [BTC]: DVD+R Changing the Book Type was finished successfully, return code 0 12:29:52 #32 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s) Anyone have any ideas? Or any pointers as to what tests I should be running or what other info I should be sharing? EDIT: Forgot to add - I'm using the latest Nero but after the above changes (firmware, aspi etc), my Sonic Recordnow doesn't recognise either this DVD drive 'or' my CDRW drive. |

| Re: Burning Problems with Emprex 8x Greetings and welcome to the forum. Emprex burners use BTC hardware. I've moved this thread to the more appropriate BTC subforum. Please post the MID code of your disc using DVD Identifier or CD-DVD Speed. Unfortunately, BTC burners do not have the best burning quality. You may need to upgrade to the highest quality media available in order to ensure useable discs. Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim are always recommended.

| Re: Burning Problems with Emprex 8x Quote:
![]() the MID code for the recent media is CMC MAG E01 but I have used other media also (MAXELL 002 & ProdiscF01) with similar non-success. If I burn DVD less than 3 gig there seems to be very few if any problems, they generally happen more the closer I get to a max capacity burn. 4 gig+ and I can't seem to burn much at all. The other problem is the sudden non recognition by Recordnow - all I've changed is isntalling ASPI and flashing firmware onto the DVD burner yet Recordnow doesn't recognise my CDRW either. | |

| Re: Burning Problems with Emprex 8x RecordNow is very picky with support for specific models. You may need to upgrade the pxEngine. I would suggest trying a full burn on Taiyo Yuden discs to see if the writer can handle an entire disc. If it can't burn on Taiyo then it can't handle anything.
