BTC BCE cdr firmware

The latest firmware for the 48x16x48 drive has been flashed to a earlier 3212IM drive with no known problems. Any who would like to check it out I'll be glad to e-mail the firmware.

Is this a lite-on rebaged? Did you use mtkflash to extract the firmware? If so. Yes please send it to me.

Not Liteon

Just a BCE or BTC made in china. Used by HiVal and IOMagic. The 32 speed has been flashed to 48 speed by using mtkflash

Well. I tried flushing the 4816 firmware code onto the BTC 3212IW (to replace Firmware 007) and the BTC flash utility refused to load it. I used the "Alternate" flash utility and "The operation was successful but the aptient died"... i.e the drive seems to be operational and identifies itself as the BTC4816 but it hangs up on trying to recognize any media of any type. I flushed the original 3212IW firmware back and the drive is as good as new (almost). Can anyone tell if I received the wrong version of the firmware, by mistake? The file says btc48.bin
Thanks
Uri

Well, I got the firmware upgraded and it locks up when I put blank CD's in the drive (can't even get the drive door open). But when I put a CD into the drive that has already been written too, it's fine. The write speed shows up correctly and everything if I put a CD that has already been written into the drive.

So in essence, I can't burn any blank CD's. Good thing I made a backup, I went back to it.

So has anyone actually be able to flash a BTC drive with a higher speed firmware and have it work? I want to upgrade my BCE4012IM. Is it possible to run a 48X or 52X firmware on this model?
