BTC 5224 Flashing Problems

Hi, here's my story:

I was upgrading firmware 001H to my btc 5224 cd-writer and my pc crashed so now my drive is dead, when I boot my PC the BIOS does not detect my cd-writer and crashes while loading windows xp unless I unplug the btc's IDE, so MTKWinFlash won't do the job. So I tried MTKFlash with a Dos boot disk. I tried flashing version 0012 BIN file (512k) because 001H is with an exe file from BTC's site and the flash is in HEX and is a file with 1,15 Mb and mtkflash can't open the file. But with the 0012 bin file everything seems ok, It recognizes the flash chip and seems to flash sucessfully and tells me to reboot but when I reboot the PC the drive is still dead. I've done mtkflash but this time to read the flash and it reads fine, but the drive? Still dead. It's like there's something missing to reactivate the drive or something. What should I do?

Is it at least detected by BIOS after re-flashing?

Unfortunately no, BIOS takes a long time trying to detect it but then it doesn't, that's what I find wierd about it, perhaps that's why windows crashed before it loaded.

Thank God I've solved my problem! I've downloaded the latest version of mtkflash and I read that it worked best if the drive to be flashed is connected to secondary slave IDE, I did that and it worked like a charm! Still can't understand why the flasher provided by btc doesn't work anymore, now it brings up the blue screen of death showing a kernel stack error or something. But I'm still glad I brought the btc back from the dead!

Can anyone please give me firmware for BTC 5224IM version 000O, 000w and 001H in bin format so it can be used with MTKflash? I've looked everywhere and I can't find any. Thank you.

I have none of those in binary form. I'd recommend usinf Winzip to extract the files from the BTC 001H updater, then use mtkflash to flash the hex file onto your drive.

"mtkflash # w filename.hex" would be the syntax.
