BTC/ Emprex Burner Discuss, AOpen 1648/BKH is what I got.. at CD and DVD Burners forum; I ordred this off e-bay , and I didn't bother to see if it was an AAP instead of this crappy BKH. Now Nero says drive not supported in CD quality test..anyway to patch/flash this?

Tsk....I explicitly wrote about a 100 times that the exact model number is important, especially the "AAP" part.

What firmware version is shown Nero Info Tool?

(wrong forum btw.)

Firmware version is A001. I know I wasn't careful enough..*sigh* So there's no simple way to patch, flash, change the EEPROM..anything to change this drive?

I don't think so (the 1648/AAP firmware is named differently (1.07 is the newest), not a good sign) . But before I make a final judgement, could you post a picture of the Nero Info Tool drive query? Or could you tell me what buffer size is shown in Nero Info Tool?

I thought you BID for items on ebay not order them It seems there are a lot of 'BUY NOW' merchants who don't want to auction stuff but make you pay instantly, not exactly what an auction site's supposed to be for is it!!

You cannot change the drive to be the same as the AAP version. Your drive is manufactured by BTC.
