so that site www.myporn.com has an IP number.....and check all the IP numbers that connect to it. they just go thru their registry of the ISP with the IPs and connect two and two together.

| Re: Tutorial: How to download illegal stuff legally Actually, its sometimes useful when police want to get a criminals internet records. But bad for those of us who just want privacy. They have free charge ISPs, that you can use(with limits, like time of course), and they are anonymous. thats the only suggestion I have. But, I think that in some cases, even those can be traced. Face it, no matter where you go, Big Brother is watching!!!

By getting your ISP address at one site, they can find everywhere you've been, right? Big Brother is indeed watching.

| Re: Tutorial: How to download illegal stuff legally hi everyone im new to the forum ^^ i think Vegeta really might be 24 and just belives very strongly that ignorance is bliss your ISP is required (by US law i think if it passed) to keep track of your IP and your account so pretty much to be able to tie an IP to an account so when the Feds come knocking and ask for the identifty of some people who are only identified by IP numbers they can tie them to real accounts and credit cards ^^ the thing is tho, if getting the IP numbers take a while (court cases, etc) then your IP might have changed enough times that it would be harder to track it back to you but dont count on it since there are many many IPs and its not that common for two people to use the same on in a short amount of time and that the Feds can now bypass courts in a lot of stuff and just go directly and tell your ISP to hand of ID of you! ![]() |

| Re: Tutorial: How to download illegal stuff legally also use double protection: firewall in stealth-mode, adware, and most importantly ip blocking software. There are ip blocking software which will give u a new identity on the net and while ur downloading they wont know where you are or who you are. Get all the security tool you need out there like Spy sweeper, spybot search & destroy, spyware blaster, etc etc, coz on some some p2p clients there are covert survelience bots downloading without your knowledge in the form of advertisements to capture your personal infornmation and what u r doing. |

| Re: Tutorial: How to download illegal stuff legally @groovemeister Freenet is an anonymous and uncensored network within the Internet. It's designed from the ground up to prevent anyone from knowing where data requests originate and where the source of that data is located while maintaining scaleability and robustness. Network content is distributed on participating users' hard-drives using military grade encryption. No-one can find out what is stored on their local Freenet cache because of this encryption. That means your computer can be used to store content that you may object to. Data availability is scalable meaning the network can adapt to provide more copies for the most popular data and also deletes content that is identified as redundant. Freenet runs best on permanently connected computers with a fixed IP and a symmetrical connection. Symmetrical connections allow you to upload at the same speed you download. After trying Freenet on my domestic DSL line (2mbit d/l, 256kbit upload) even after a few weeks I found it to be slow. It constantly uses your upload and download bandwidth. IMO it's certainly not yet suitable for sharing large files. Time will tell whether that improves. Regards TZ

| Re: Tutorial: How to download illegal stuff legally @jaffacake2000: All that IP blocking software does is relay your Internet communication through a proxy server that has a different public IP address to you. It does not change your public IP address. Many of the so called anonymous proxies (meaning they don't keep logs of connections) are not indeed anonymous. In that way, you can never be sure that your identity is protected and thus are deluded into a false sense of security. Read some books on ex black hat hackers that found this out the hard way and were caught despite all their amazing expertise. The only reason you have not been caught so far is that no-one has yet targeted you. The longer you continue thinking you are anonymous the higher your chance is of being busted. Regards TZ
