And... the RIAA tried to get the isp's up there to fold and give them info but the isp's told them to get lost.

I believe this has been settled in court in the isp's favor. Score one for the hoser's !!

The law here's kind of complicated and probably open to challenges, but seems to be positive at the moment.
A great web site to keep up to date with all issues around downloading / DRM / copyright etc is Michael Geist here - an awful lot to read and take in
I'm still going through a lot of this stuff, but good to know some legal folks are working hard on this stuff
