I'm completely stumped bout my napster. I connected the other week fine to my napster to go package thing. but one morning, tried to connect and when i start up napster, the log in field is white, then it just says "sorry we are unable to sign you in at this time, please check connection and try again. if you are using firewall make sure napster is on allowed list" which it is. I have tried turning firewall off and nothing happened.

I also can't connect to napster.co.uk either for some reason. therefore cant write to napster for help as you have to do a dumb ass request form! i can play the few songs i was able to download before it died offline. but this is kinda getting silly now! any ideas as to how to fix it? I am running my internet on firefox... moight that hve something to do with it? was fine before tho!

Hmm firstly if you are using another client firewall on top of windows firewall (supplied with Widnows XP SP2), make sure the windows firewall is disabled.

Also, it might have something to do with your connection... a couple of months ago I couldn't access some forums anymore - so I had to use a proxy to get around it... I donno if that is the problem in this case but its worth a try.

set up a proxy?? ooh how do i do that! I've got a feeling it is the connection, on a wireless connection through a belkin router. Tried changing everything possible on my firewall settings, turned it off, turn antivirus off and turned antihacker off...

aha yes that is the problem! i connected to my uniS VPN network so therefore changing the IP i think... whatever it worked! bt problem is i can only connect to unis vPN for like 10 mins at atime.... so proxy is the way forward! can anyone give me a link on how to set up a proxy server or something that'll make napster work!! thanks for your help

k problem solved.... needed to change ip adress... so just unplugged router and repluged it back in again! hurrah! thanks for the suggestion!
