Music for free?

Its a well known fact that the artists make very little money from cd sales. Its just the big recording empires and agents that make the money. Most artists rake in the money from tours and merchandise sales!. They will even tell you that themselves!!

George Michael is releasing his next single for free on the internet, and I believe at some point in the future all music will be available for free. Lets face it! they ain't never going to stop P2P sharing, its here forever.

Most artists in the future will pump out a video and rely on their touring and merchandise to make the money, in effect cancelling out the big boys like Sony, EMI etc. Its funny how its the recording labels that are making all the noise about this P2P business cause they are the ones who will lose money. They are just flogging a dead horse! The recording industry, as we know it, will go under at some point.

We're the punters, and ultimately its the punters who decide!!

Do others agree? or disagree?

Don't you kid yourself !! i do agree that the mega corporations are making all the money but lets face it, they have the power & the money to combat piracy for the next 100 yrs.
Don't get me wrong im a firm believer in p2p sharing, i believe that the general public have been ripped off for years with high prices for dvd/audio, and it's about time we got something back for all that money we spent over the years.

As fast as the record companys bring out a new piracy messure against us we always manage to counter that. Piracy has always been here and always will, but as long as this remains the record companys will always pursue it.
