UT2004 CD6 loads start screen and then crashes back to desktop

Ok, here is the info. I have UT2004. I tried to make a copy of by using the CloneCd/TwinPeak/Alcohol mehtod. I used CloneCD to make the initial .ccd file from the original play disc. I took that .ccd and a .bwa file that i found at http://www.makeabackup.com/downcat1-60-titleA-10.html (I used both files as they were named) and used them both in TwinPeak to make a patched.ccd file. I took the patched.ccd image and used Alcohol 120% Image Burn Wizard to burn a copy of it. All that I get are coasters....5 so far. Below are the settings that I used in all the programs utilized. Please check my settings and tell me what I did wrong.

CloneCD Settings:

It let me in and there were four icons to choose from. I chose the first one.....write to image....and then it made the file. I saved the image to a file and then went on to TwinPeak. I did not change any options, or anything.

TwinPeak v0.2 Settings:

twin sector setup - 15
maximize image size - 710MB
I chose the image file made with CloneCD and then the .bwa file that i downloaded. Both of these files were in the same file. There were no options to change.

Alcohol 120% Trial Version Settings:
On the first window I had to choose the image to burn. I chose the right one and then it refreshed and showed that my Image file Information was:

Type: CloneCD Image file
Path: C:\Documents and Settings\Justin Lee Shaw.CPQ32204208462\Desktop\UT2004 Play Cd\
Name: patched.ccd
patched.img
patched.sub
Size: 710.40 MB
Session: 1
Track: 1

Session 01:
Track 01: Mode 1, Length: 299345(584.7 MB), Address: 000000

The next window asked for the drive in which the blank cd would be in. I chose the right one. Next it asked for the write speed. I chose the lowest one (8x). Next it had the write method. I had

Write method: DAO/SAO

and next to it the write box was

Write: checked
Simulation: unchecked

Then it asked number of copies and I had 1.

Then it had:

Enable buffer underrun technology: checked
Don’t close the last session of current disc: unchecked

Then it had in the background(meaning that I could not do anything about it):

Rectify Sub-Channel Data: checked
Burn “RMPS” to recordable media: unchecked

Lastly it had:

Data Type: Securom*NEW

Then I clicked start and a new window came up. It gave me three options about the TOC. I chose the first one:
“Keep TOC as on source CD, write until end of image file(recommended)”

I clicked ok and it started to burn the CD. That is it.

I know that this is long, and for that I apologize, but I really want to get this problem fixed. I also heard that if you have Alcohol or CloneCD on your comp that UT2004 wont load . So, i dleted them and still had the same problem. When I installed the game i used the original play cd, but that shouldnt cause this problem,Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

J

You dont say what burner you have. This could well be the problem.

I am using a LITE-ON LTR24102B(1:1).

if that is the case then i could use my suitemates, but the burner has never been a problem before with things like this. Also, i know people who have had success with the same burner, so i doubt that is the problem.

Does anyone know any other ways to make a good copy of the cd? I know that you can use just alcohol and TwinPeak, or some people said BlindWrite.

What programs, drivers, etc. make Securom crash a game at loading???

Ok, here is my issue. I need to know what programs (CloneCD, ALcohol, BlindWrite...) make Securom cause a game to not load. I have UT2004...yes a legal copy, all 6 cds.....but it wont load. The opeing page loads and then the program quits. I know that it has to be due to the Securom 5.02 security. I had the following programs on my comp, but I deleted them because I heard that they cause securom to close the game.

programs:

BlindWrite
TwinPeak
CloneCD
Alcohol120%
BWA Builder

I deleted all of these programs and then deleted all the files and drivers. UT2004 still wouldnt work though. So, I uninstalled UT2004 again and reinstalled, and it still wont load. I get the opening Unreal Tournament 2004 screen with the three logos, and then it closes. I dont think that i have any other programs on my comp. Please let me know what programs, drivers, etc. to delete. Thanks in advance.

Ok, here is an update. I uninstalled Ut and reinstalled. I then tried to run it with the original PlayDisc, but it still wont work. I think that it is cus of a driver or program that I have loaded that makes the Securom security crash the program. Any ideas??

Do you have the now obsolete virtual drive of CloneCD installed? It's blacklisted.
