Using Games X Copy, trying to get around Securom

Please help! I am using Games X Copy to backup my games, but a few (Manhunt and Hitman Contracts, so far) have a problem with "copy protection emulation". I believe they both use Securom, but am not sure. I am able to install them both, but I cannot play them.

Is there any way I can get around this issue? I PAID FOR THESE DAMN GAMES for chrissakes! I am a COMPLETE newbie to this sort of thing, so you man need to talk to me like I am in 3rd grade.

Yes, they are both securom 5.
Do you have a cd-rw unit called 'plex premium'? If you do, you can do these titles easily with Blindwrite 5, where you can find at www.vso-software.fr.

If you dont have it, You will need a .bwa file for each game, make a image with CloneCD and use twinpeaks to insert the bwa file into the ccd file.

The ccd file is the output of CloneCD. You get clonecd from www.slysoft.com .

Games X Copy is not very good in my opinion. Alcohol 120%, CloneCD or BlindWrite are both better and more reliable.

Gotta admit GameXcopy totally SUCKS. It is blacklisted (emulation), and the developers have made no effort to resolve this. I think is it is built around GameJack technology, (no not Game Jackal)

Also GameJack sucks as well.

You can download a good .bwa file from here:

http://www.makeabackup.com/downcat1.html

That will probably be better than the .bwa file you try to make yourself and it will save you some time and headache.

First off it is using Daemon tools for it's virtual drives and their burning engine is built around this company. So any time daemon tools is blacklisted, Games X Copy is also..so...the daemon tools update has to come first.

Secondly it will not copy SecuRom at all, after you've completed the image made with DPM, you go to write the image to cdr, you will get a pop-up warning window "DPM will not be copied to disk" we all know what this means, no DPM no working back-up.

I am dissapointed with a company that produces an excellent product ' DVDxCopy', and then gets technology from a 3rd party company, that nobodys ever heard of!!

Its just best to stick to the twin-peaks method for now.

Re: Using Games X Copy, trying to get around Securom

In my opinion GamesXcopy is garbage!! I have only burned one successful copy and that was BF Vietnam. I have tryied to burn Hitman Contracts,FarCry and Chaser all were coasters. It is a waste of money!

well for most of us we dont need that (I won't quote) using the TwinPeaks method. Please research and use our search function before posting.
