Is it possible to back this up yet?. If so what software to use and does it need a specific writer?

Slovak Encryption Use this, use that, what this does is actually encrypts the protection loacated on the game or disk, I believe I first ran into this in a JoWoods production called Chaser. it was trying to hide the fact that the disc was protected by SecuRom 4.84.

It would help if you let us know what the title of this disc was.
As posted by Kamikazee the Slovak Protection is more for Anticracking not stopping the disc from being copied. The same as Armadillo protection.
Try using BlindWrite5 (all automatic)
BlindWrite4 (check extract subcodes)
CloneCD (protected Data profile)
Alcohol120% (General protected CD datatype)

The game is called crescendo. It's one of those anime type games abit away from the norm, more like an interactive story book. But you're not allowed to judge me untill you've played kana

Man, this Slovak thingie is one tough cookie to handle.
Tried the various settings:
BlindWrite5 (all automatic)
BlindWrite4 (check extract subcodes)
CloneCD (protected Data profile)
Alcohol120% (General protected CD datatype)

But to no avail. Please excuse my ignorance, but from what I gathered asking around, Slovak is used to hide what form of protection is used instead of doing the actual protection itself. Does that mean that if I trial & error on various popular protection schemes like SecureRom or SafeDisc, there is a chance of getting the correct one & getting it to work?

Yes I got it!
As expected, Slovak does not do any protection by itself. I retraced some of the games that the company previously produced and found that they used to implement StarForce in their previous games.

Many trial and errors followed while I use many different profiles for versions of Starforce & I finally got it using BlindWrite
Anyone plagued by this silly Solovak thingie can try out & see if it works!

Man, something wrong with my ID, couldn't login

I don't think what I used will work in your case cauz my game wasn't crescendo (btw, what kinda game is that?). However, the same theory should apply to your game as well.

If you own other games by the same publisher, find out what kind of protection those previous ones used. They should be the same if not a newer version of protection scheme. If unfortunately you don't, try safedisc 2.x -3.x or securom 4.x - they are the most popular ones out there.

If you need profiles, do a google for the word "alcoholer" This nifty app provides you with the alcohol profiles for different kind of protections.

My writer is a Sony one, forot the model though.

Hope this helps!

All been tried with alocohol and blindwrite and all no go. The previous games by the same maker used safedisk.
