Hi, Ive been trying to backup thief : Deadly Shadows which is SecuRom 5 (English Version)

Ive got a perfect BWA of the disc but when i burn the bwa into autoplay on the dvd the topology goes wierd. i noticed this when i load bwa from autoplay into BWA Builder 5 the graph seems like the peaks in the line are weaker than the original BWA u got any ideas as to whats causing this and how to rectify it?

what are you doing exactly? Newest BlindWrite version should be able to create an emulated backup of this game just using the Automatic profile for reading and writing.

It depends on what dvd unit you are using!Not every drive can run a game copy even with emulation!!

so... is theif 3 on a dvd or cd, im confused, i think if its a cd CloneCD/TwinPeak method would work, however i am not sure how to make copys of SecuRom 5 DVDs as clonecd only handles cd images (yes clonecd 5 makes dvd images but they wont work with TwinPeak) :sad, but i think aclohol 120% using safedisk 4/5 profile might work work with emulation

it's on DVD version and Alcohol can't handle DVD protections at the moment so BlindWrite is the only solution to create a backup .

Theif 3 is on DVD (ENGLISH) im using a NEC writer sorry forgot to bring my specs with me im not connected with my comp

Blindwrite can make a backup copy but it will either work or not and Alcohol120%, Clone CD,Gamejackal,etc. cannot backup DVD games....yet.

yes i know, im using blindwrite, its my main copying prog, but when you load the topology from the resulting backup its just looks weaker then the original topolgy from the original disk, ive tried just using the auto mode and loading a bwa with tweaker but same results just a distorted and weaker topology

@Death Godx CloneCD had a recent BETA update which enables DVD support.
@GrimReeFA2004 Try using the 4.5.7 topology builder. The v5 one isnt as good in my opinion. Which CD unit are you using to copy/read your game

@ grimreafa2004, if from what i understand the topology from a backup is not as good as topology from a original, as in most cases when you make a copy of a copy, so you need to make a new topology file from the original disk, or am i confused?

Whats the point in using the BWA Builder from 4.5.7....it cant make a BWA from a DVD.

I misread and thought we was talking about CDs...

ive made a bwa from the original dvd and it looks completely fine.

the problems is when it gets embedded its distorted.

as u can load the embedded autoplay straight back into bwa builder 5 from the dvd i tried it and it is distorted and weaker than the original bwa , sorry i keep forgetting to bring my model number with me but ill try next time but its a new NEC black model writer if thats any help.

As bcn 246 mentioned, that's just the normal behaviour (and i suppose the same with Securom CD's) AND, same question as in the FarCry DVD-R Thread, what about the booktype ?

whenever i embedd the topolgy for any other title it looks 100% the same as the original bwa chart but with this thief deadly shadows its weaker and distorted ive never had this prob before as anybody else had the same problem as me
