With respect to the legality of your question, I do not know the license agreement for HALO, but generally you are only allowed to install the program on 1 PC, or at least use it on 1 PC at the same time.
As to the technical part of your question, assuming it is allowed by the End User License Agreement (EULA), perhaps more information about the software used and the specifications of your laptop would help...
