Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Don't ask for help with pirated software....your apparent desperation, plus the fact that you sent me a *PM*, asking for help with getting it burnt, tells me that you downloaded it. Please read the rules...

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Question concerning backing up Sims 2 University. The preferred way of handling PC games would be to create ISOs or .mds files with Alcohol 120%. Also to get back on topic, when creating a backup of Sims 2 University there were a few errors on the log and the backup doesn't play on my Plextor 716A. It does however play fine on my LG-4163B, is there any way I can create a backup so it'll play on all disc drives. My younger siblings are hassling me for a backup and well that'll leave me with nothing.

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Trying to back up The Sims 2 University and have been wondering what settings should I use on my Plextor 716A. Is there any settings that need to be altered for it to work.

The most common choice for many members here seems to be the Safedisc 2/3 profile but between Safedisc & Safedisc2/3 there isn't much difference besides the Bypass EFM error for burning. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Game:Nexus The Jupiter Incident
Game Protection : Safedisc 4.00.001
Reader: Pioneer dvd116
Writer:Lite On SOHW-1693S

Used Alcohol 120% 1.9.5 3105 to read at 4x write at 8x safedisc 2/3

Success!!! (I think....)

When you first start the game it closes due to an error in the nexus_dx8.exe file (which is also protected with safedisc 4). You close the error message (click do not send) and restart the game....works fine. I have tried several other times before to back this game up but failed miserably...would always tell me to insert the correct cd.This method works everytime.

If someone knows why there is this little quirk i would like a clue

And also, does anyone know if Safedisc 4 still implements the "silent" copy protection that fools you into thinking that you have a working backup but subtly changes the game to be almost unplayable?

Greetings from Spain!

PD:For the moderators: Sorry for my previous post that was deleted. I have the retail DVD of B&W2, the other one was the cd version; it's a long story... Another time: sorry for the post.

Is this the first DVD burner that can copy SafeDisc 4.x DVD's (w/o emulation)?!?!?!?!

tqhoang:

You may want to post in the group for that burner. I would be VERY surprised if it allowed RAW DAO writing in DVD mode...(especially when I don't think any available software supports it yet).

I'm sure if that burner allowed RAW DAO in DVD mode, everyone would be jumping all over it....

Need For Speed: Most wanted (CD Version, CD1 protected)

Alcohol 120% v1.9.5 (build 3105)

Profile: SafeDisk 2/3
Reader Plextor Premium FW 1.06
Writer Plextor Premium FW 1.06
Read and Write: MAX

Works in Plextor Premium FW 1.06 With Hide CD-Media enabled (with plextools)
Does not work in Daemon-tools 4.00HE unless in combination with SafeDisk4Hide v1.0

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Game: Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.

Protection: SafeDisc 4.50.000

Using Alcohol 120% v1.9.5 (build 3105)
Safedisc 2/3 profile for both reading and writing.

Read on Liteon JLMS XJ-HD166S at MAX speed.

Burnt on Liteon LTR-48246S at MAX speed.

Works on Liteon JLMS XJ-HD166S and TEAC CD-R55S.

Does not work on Liteon LTR-48246S nor Pioneer A105.

For the obvious reason that Safedisc asks for ATIP information that both of the burners listed last will read and will also respond to the request for ATIP.

The TEAC burner does not respond to any request for ATIP, nor can it read ATIP, therefore Safedisc does not know it is running from a burnt copy.

Will the copy run from either or both of the two burners with alcohol's Ignore media type enabled?

That's not true. Same configuration. Do not works!
The profile is not enabled. DVD RAW don't support profile settings because DVD are not able to write RAW mode.

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Hi everyone

I wanted to make a backup of my Battlefield 2 CD's (SafeDisc 4.X) so i could box the originals in safety.

Alcohol 120 1.9.2 1705 Safedisc 2/3 profile
[1st attempt]

Read (Maximum)LITE-ON LTR-52246S (CD-RW) fast skipped errors perfectly
Write (10x) LITE-ON LTR-52246S (CD-RW)
Load Game with backup disc in LITE-ON LTR-52246S -- Fail
Load Game with backup disc in PIONEER DVR-110D -- Fail
Load Game with backup disc in *LG* HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-4163B -- Pass

[2nd attempt]

Read (Maximum) PIONEER DVR-110D could not fast skip errors
Write (4x) PIONEER DVR-110D
Load Game with backup disc in LITE-ON LTR-52246S -- Fail
Load Game with backup disc in PIONEER DVR-110D -- Fail
Load Game with backup disc in *LG* HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-4163B -- Pass

So i am happy to say that these LG brand DVD-RAM drives will
Read SafeDisc 1 - 4.X Backups fine

GO THE LG !!!!

Are these drives actually LG or Re-Brands?

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Ok I have a question I just purchased Call of duty 2 (non DVD format) and trying to back it up it is the first game I ever came acrossed as Safedisc 4.xxxx I am wondering how I go about in Alcohol 120 to back it up as the highest it goes in safedisc is 2/3 do I select this one and make any other modifications before copying? can I leave it on maximum read and the lowest when writing or should it be on the lowest for reading and writing? Thanks in advance for any insight and help on this problem....

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

I have read this forum and I don't believe I saw any Sony DVD burners. I have a DRU500 and DRU700 with the latest firmware. I have tried to backup the kids copy of Black and White 2, before it gets unreadable, using all of the knowledge in this site with no success. So, do the DVD drives make that much difference????

@lanceman

Most Sony drives is simply rebranded (OEM) Lite-On drives. They have the same hardware inside, but different firmwares. Probably that's why you haven't seen them.

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

SafeDisc 4.xx titles is extremely difficult to copy. Try to use SafeDisc 2/3 profile in Alcohol and lower burning speed (4x-16x). And even in this case no one can guarantee that the copy will work.
