And what about plex and TEAC (since they are writers I'm interested if they can run backup)?

Cheers

I cannot get the game to work without putting it in Alcohol's virtual drive. It loads but just sits at the opening screen after hardware detection. Can install with it but not play. Uninstalled virtual drive too.

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Part of Safedisc protection is to first check for ATIP on the cd, a pressed cd doesn't have one but a burnt one does.
A burner can read this ATIP, a reader cannot.
Therefore if you want it to run you should use a reader to install and play.

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

ATIP = Absolute Time In Pre-Groove, which means if a cd/dvd drive can see if you are using a CD-R/DVD-R, so playing from a reader is best because they cant tell the difference.

Prince of Persia Warrior Within
(SafeDisc 4.00.001)

Alcohol 120% 1.9.2 build 1705: SafeDisc 2/3 profile

Toshiba SD-R5272 (DVD writer)

Writing at 4X

No luck.

My other drive is an Asus CRW-5232A, which is also supposed to be good at SD writing, but it doesn't work either.

I have used the Toshiba to back up a whole number of SD3 titles (Doom 3, FIFA 2005, Rome: Total War) without any problem. Does this mean SD4 is a whole lot harder?
Would it be worth buying a LiteOn?

Re: Safedisc 4.00.000 Successes and Non-Successes

Lite-On 52327S can make a very good copy of SafeDisc 3.2, however it cant play it,

So I guess the Lite-On 52327S along with a Lite-On DVD player would work.

And what about other DVD player not from Liteon, like a Pioneer 106s slot model?

Thanks Ben - what about a Toshiba DVD reader? Any ideas? Truly, this looks to be the age of mix 'n match hardware!

What is the reason for that the LTR-52327S cannot play a backup? Is it not enough to use Hide CDR media?

Hmm Toshiba DVD readers probably won't read it, they are notorious for being a stubborn reader.
