Backup with Nero on Traxdata DVD+R DL :
Games works to the midle game .
You arrive at field of wash it's ok then ...
When you must down to second field of wash to take echangor
the game stop on loading page , load then freeze and can't reset or off .

Backup with Game Cloner on Traxdata DVD+R DL :

I try with bitsetting but

DVD+RW after --> DVD-ROM it's OK
DVD+R DL after --> DVD+R DL it's not OK bitsetting don't work

So

You think to have a perfect backup because you test only if the game boot , who have test a game at 100% for said it's works perfectly he he Surprise .

In this game i listen the second layer is after you killed lord Vanarhost . So it's after this so WHY it's stop now to working at this point ???

Many people who think made a perfect copy with DVD+R DL game you must have big surprise at a party of the game , someone have finished a copy of GT4 at 100% on a DVD+R DL i don't think , you think it's work because it boot you try go to the end of game ? if not big surprise .

It's very interesting and i hate this
because i'm tired to kill all my DVD+R DL.

Noone interresting by this and it's bad for the future of support DVD+R DL on ps2 because here there are a interresting problem with an ps2 dual layer game .

Why ps2 can read dvd9 from begin of game to here with no problems then stop on this loading page ?

If i continue with original just this part of game then i reload the save after with the dvd9 backup it's works . So the ps2 can't read just this part why ?

Toxic bios 1.3 is really ready at 100% for support dvd9 ?

I can play all but not this part of game why ?

No, I can't but it maybe something to do with the fact this is a downloaded modified version of the retail game.

I have write in my post than MY ORIGINAL GAMES WORKS .

ALL BACKUP ARE MADE WITH MY ORIGINAL GAMES .

I have just test the version 2 DVD-R downloaded on emule because made a dvd9 --> 2 dvd-r it's hard so i don't want to try with my original . And it's interesting to see the rip made by other block at the same point but not with a loading page as my dvd+r dl backup but on a black screen .

merther why do you ALWAYS assume that a game is downloaded?

Since you've gotten past the initial checks, your problem is almost certainly a media problem (just like about 95% of all other dvd burning problems) resulting in a slightly defective burn.

Try using better quality media (e.g. Verbatim Data Life Plus).

I think i go to buy a Verbatim and retry one backup , i know liteon not burn at best quality and perhaps traxdata DL have something i read somewhere than ritek DL have some problems and traxdata are identified as ritek .

I hope this will works if not i'll become crazy

So the Liteon Bookset Type 1.35 software Works now with the burner


Made image of original ps2 Champions of Norrath with DVD Decrypter
Patch image with Toxic patcher 1.00
Set the Bookset Type on DVD-ROM
Write image with DVD Decrypter on Verbatim DL at 1x
Control booktype and ok Type are DVD-ROM after write it's nice .
Try the game
Same Result
Game block on same zone .

1) Toxic patcher and Toxic bios 1.3 don't works at 100% for DL support
2) This game have something than noone find and Sony can retry this on another game .

For me i tired to buy DVD+R DL and kill them .
Good luck you must find why when it's arrive to you ps2 men .

My traxdata double layer discs had problems at the layer break.
When i changed to verbatim everything was ok but i have not tried a double layer ps2 game yet.
Im hoping to try GTA4 this week sometime once i get more DL discs.

I think i'll try another DVD9 game as GT4 for see if this champions of norrath who have a special tip protection as a check or if the toxic idea don't works simply .

I'll buy a ps two with matrix infinity and put the bios matrix infinity 1.45 with the D9 support .

Same result .

Only difference is
PS2 v6 can read Traxdata DL as Verbatim .
PS two can't read Traxdata DL .

Same game patched with toxic patcher 1.0 same result .

Champions of norrath CAN'T be backup on DL
or plit on 2 dvd (version tested same result).

Ok i have just tried to backup original Gran turismo 4 to hdd in iso mode with dvd decryptor ...
Then i applied the toxic patch which reported as a success then burned to verbatim double layer disc which also reported as a success.
Result it did not boot im using a messiah 2 modchip on a version 7 ps2 consol..
Why im not yet sure maybe the modchip or consol are not compatible im off to check this now
btw i burned at 4x

All people said we must burn at 1x and in toxic patcher 1.0 Toxic team said we must put the bitset on DVD-ROM for working .
You can put the bitseting with tool , small software depend of your burner .
After burn control with nero dvd speed or dvd decrypter if the bitset is on DVD-ROM .

I burn to 1x with dvd decrypter and set booktype to DVD-ROM

The game load , i see the first black screen with 2005 etc...
Then nothing .

This suck

booktype was set for dvd-rom although i burned @4x once i get another double layer disc i will give it another go..
btw DEFER just read the post again and you have a DMS4 so why are you patching the image when you can flash your modchip or am i reading something wrong...

Yup, he can just do the BIOS upgrade with the DMS4. Although the Toxic patcher works fine. Media makes a huge difference though. I for one won't touch anything but a Verbatim for D/L at this point. *EDIT* just noticed that the burner he was using was a Lite-On and that could be the problem since they are fussy writers.

Yes i have the dms4 with last bios , but when the console die and i'll buy it another i want the backup works on it . So for most compatibility i patch the image .
But patched or not the result is the same .

And on v6 with dms4 and v12 with matrix infinity . All have the d9 support .

I definitely would be picking up another burner. Lite-Ons are great for ripping and error rate scans but not burning. I have a DMS3 chip with the stock bios and my Pioneer 109 with V1.40 firmware upgrade burned Gran Turismo 4 to 2.4x D/L DVD+R Verbatim without a hitch. It autosets the booktype to DVD-ROM for me on double layer discs and it burned it at 6x with no problems. Oh yeah, I used the Toxic D/L patch as well.

Champions of Norrath must have a particular protection. It doesn't work fine on my PS2 V7 modified with matrix infinty bios 1.54. I can kill the vampire (Lord Varanost) but I can't go ahead. I used the toxic patcher to patch the iso done by dvddecrypter; my backup doesn't work with others saves as the city of kantuun because the PS2 freezes but if I put into the drawer the original disc it works.
I made a full working backup of God of War tested with a lot saves and the extras are working fine too.
I think there is something different in Champions.

Will the toxic patcher work on ANY dvd9? [ie: film or xbox title]
Or is it written purely for ps2?

Hello People. I have a question regaurding this DVD9 SH!T. (xkuze my french) I have recently tried backing up Midinght Clubub Edition Remix Which something like 7.5 GB. Now I have a Sony burner which burns DL dvds and everything else.I have burnt the game and popped it into my playstation, but became confused when it only showed the PlayStation2 Logo and then nothing happened. I burned it 2x more but same problem.I dont know whether its the DVD (i used Memorex,Which I heard sux a$$,but didnt know that until after)or the mod chip.I am not sure what mod i have. But im pretty sure its not that because if it was I dont think it would read the disc at all and tell me to insert a ps2 formaqt disc. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!
