Mohaa Breakthrough

Be prepared, Mohaa breakthrough seems to give a please insert the CD error if you are running any virtual drives on your system. I have alcohol 120% and can't get Breakthrough to run from any optical drive or a virtual drive. Installs fine, but asks for disc when trying to run it. Anyone know of a fix? EA says disable all virtual drives in their new FAQ, that is not an acceptable answer. Not sure if it matters, but I am running Win 98SE and newest version of Alcohol 120%. So the safedisc 2 Windows XP fix won't help me.

safedisc v2.9 blacklists all current vrtual drives in alcohol and clone cd . I understand that a new version of alcohol out soon will address this problem. until then just disable your virtual drive.
as long as you have made a good copy using a 2 sheep burner your game should run fine.
All mine of the above titles play ok!

copy smaller than original

I used BW and followed the instructions for sd2.9 to copy c&c zero hour and the original is 438MB and the copy is 423MB.
It still plays when i put the copy in but was just wondering if any of you guys had the same thing with your copies? Or am i doing something wrong?
Thanks

copied with DiscDump and Fireburner

DiscDump and Fireburner copy works great. . .Don't like BW. DiscDump and Fireburner hasn't failed me yet but BW has a million times.

No problems copying, installing, or playing Medal of Honor Breakthrough.

what versions of discdump and fireburner are you using?
and do you both read and write from your burner?
do your copies of safedisc v2.9 games work in other cd drives
not including your liteon dvd as this drive reads well copies and doesnt give an exe error when trying to run!
thanks in advance.

You can download the frontend and last version of discdump as a single installation package from the discdump frontend home page.

Yep. You'll need an adaptec aspi layer for discdump to work.

Definitely works with v. 4.6. No guarantees with later aspi versions.

AFAIK, it will have no effect on any other burning proggy.

I would like to know where you got this information from, I for one have been told in no uncertain terms that these games BreakThrough, Secret Weapon and Rush Hour that carry this protection has not blacklisted any part of the virtual drives or alcohol itself .
Quote:
As you can plainly see it's working on a picky Tosh so the current version of alcohol is not, repeat not, blacklisted by sd 2.9.
Quote:
I'm also not aware of any sd 2.9 blacklists. 2.90.040 has been out for months (maybe even over a year). Therefore, if one such game works fine, then I would assume all others would work as well.
so as you can see safedisc 2.90.040 does not blacklist anything.
Entire thread here read for yourself

A short explanation on the subject of sd 2.9 blacklistings.

sd 2.90.040 blacklisted both CloneCD's virtual drive and hide cdr media. The blacklist against the ccd virtual drive is effective so long as that element of the program is installed even if not active.

CloneCD has not been updated since sd 2.9 first appeared so those blacklistings remain effective.

The solution, if you want ccd on your system, is to uninstall ccd and do a custom re-install without the virtual drive component and disactivate hide cdr media. Note that hide cdr media is not de-activated merely by closing the tray icon; you must disable it from the tray icon before closing or it will continue to run as a tsr.

If you only have a writer or other atip reading drive, don't use ccd's hide; use another atip hiding utility such as alcohol's Ignore media type or, if you use blindwrite to make your back-ups, blindwrite's autoplay function (though, of course, that does somewhat more than just hide the atip).

As for alcohol, sd 2.90.040 when first used blacklisted the version of alcohol's virtual drive then in use.

Neither the current version of alcohol nor its virtual drive is blacklisted.

If legally using an older version of alcohol, the solution is simple; just update to the current version. If illegally using an older version and your keygen/crack doesn't work on the latest version (no suggestion that this applies to anyone who has posted here btw), the solution is also simple; buy a licence for the program (so that you can legally use the current version).

SecuROM 4.84.69.0071 first blacklisted the CloneCD Virtual Drive

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....threadid=69452

I told Olli about this and he said "Well, this pretty stupid from Sony... as it is very easy to detect, if a game runs from Vitual CD, there is no need to completely blacklist Virtual CD".

I believe he is trying to say you can't blacklist a physical copy that works. one that you don't have to use a virtual drive or hide cdr media for. and that Blindwrite gives you those options? I could be wrong tho.

I'm sure lapinou can speak without your 'aid' kamikazee, thanks.

I've come up with at least 3 interpretations of what he said.

why are so negative about what Kamikazee can bring as detail ?

Lazer, you are an asshole... who tried to convince you were registered in a very stupid way .. I am bored by all the negative things and post deleted on the forums.

It seems you are all against Kamikazee as soon as it illustrates a difference between the program ..

My apologies.

I didn't realise kamikazee was your official interpreter.

Bad choice IMO.

You are an official spokesperson for VSO, or a self-appointed one?

Lazer,

Giovanni, Kamikazee can reply better than myself on a lot of technical topics. OFFICIALLY, I can ensure the replies done by both of them are qualified and as reliable than mine ( and with a better english ... )
