MAGIX - Movie Edit Pro 2005

For my company we ordered Movie Edit Pro 2005 from MAGIX. While trying to
make a back-up copy for our archives (standard company procedure) it
appeared that the installation CD has a copy protection. I have tried to
find out what kind of copy protection this CD contains, using numerous Copy
Protection scanning tools, but it was not recognized. The only thing I
found was that the CD is an Mixed Moded and overburned (661Mb) with illegal
TOCs. Besides that you can clearly see a seperate data track (ring) on the
outside off the CD itself.
Usually a standard type of protection for Nero, CloneCD or Alcohol 120% to
make an image of the CD, but in all cases the reading stopped at 95% (Lite-on).
So, can anyone tell me what type of copy protedtion is used and how to make
an back-up?

Welcome Corleone ,

it's using Ring Protech protection. I would recommend using Alcohol's Ring Protech+ profile for reading and writing. It'll take some time and you'll get read errors around 95% just sit back and relax.

Thanks Kalas,

Your information was correct, I managed to make a backup by using my NEC 3500 in combination with Alcohol with the Ring Protech profile.
As I understand this type of protection can be identified visually!!!

You're right Corleone some protections can be identified visually, one of them is Ring Protech. Did you use RingProtech or RingProtech+ profile, just for my personal interrest?
