I have used blindwrite 5 and daemon tools to emulate the drive I cannot get the cd emulation to work. any Ideas

Hi RESPEAECT and welcome to the forum!!

I take it magellan gps Mapsend directroute is your program?

Maybe you should give the software/game a scan over with A-Ray scanner www.aray-software.com ,then tell us what protection it has.

If it has SafeDisc 2/3, you should be able to make a image, then mount it with daemon tools, but i am not sure about making a copy, as i dont know your cd/dvd unit, so please tell us!!

If it is SecuROM 4/5, you will need to use a method called twinpeaks, which i wont bother explaning here until you're confirmed with the protection.

There are many other protections that this disc may be protected with, so tell us ASAP!!!!

I ran the program last night the only thing that poped up was tags present no other information was avilable with the aray software

Hmm. Did you have to activate the software in any way?

Go into the cd-rom folder and take a screen shot and post it here.

I am assuming you mean that A-Ray said tags present..
Did it say tags or Tages?
If it said Tages it is not possible to back this up at the moment.

I don't believe so. The problem with Tages is in the reading of the CD. It is currently not possible to extract a working image.

The emulation does not work, but it was relatively easy to make a working copy of the disk using ttols from Jackass and Spath

So tages is not that scary as they picture it on the web site

Tages have already stopped this method from working.
I believe the 1.1 patch for XIII no longer runs if burnt using spath's method.
So I imagine any future Tages protected titles will not be copiable this way either.
It looks like a more complete solution will be needed.

Wow,
Sure glad I found this forumn, I was going nuts trying to load my mapsend topo3d. I finally just copied disk 1 and 2 using regular copy, then I could install the program.
Well, disk 3 I guess is copy protected. No problem, but sure would be nice to run it without the cd plugged in all the time. And what happenes when the cd get scrated?Which is what I am worried about since disk 1 and 2 were impossible to install without making copies of.
Thanks for the help of just knowing what is going on. If I would have know this before I bought the GPS unit, I would have bought someing different.
