| instructions to copey F.E.A.R Hello there, I'm a real newbie and need help  I got the game FEAR and I want to make a legitimate backup for personal use, do I just make an image with alcohol 120% or what should I do? | Re: instructions to copey F.E.A.R To make a good backup of that game (CD version) I would recommend you to use a Plexwriter Premium+Blindwrite 4.57. If you have not that device, you should use twinpeaks method with any cd-writer. To learn about all this try to search on the forum tutorials about it; I remember that there are some posts about copy/emulate securom v5/v7 on cd/dvd media.

F.E.A.R. uses SecuROM 7.00.00.0036, which isn't detected by the latest version of A-Ray Scanner, nor is Alcohol updated to deal with it... You can copy it with Alcohol under the SecurRom Settings, and you'll need "Virtual CD Hide"... this effectively 'hides' all virtual drives on your pc from 'emulation detection' ... I used this same tech for Total Overdose, which uses the same copy protection... other copy programs may also require "Anti-Blaxxx" program, also designed to overcome this new version of secure rom. Search for these programs on google, maybe under Total Overdose, or leave a post and I can try to post a link to them. Enjoy. | |
