Start_Here.exe is on the CD that is hexalocked, normally it should open automatically when you insert the cd into the computer via autorun.inf (also found on the cd).

The unlocker (i.e. "Proof of Concept") is actually a bypass; it fools HexaLock into decrypting the files for the program, then via socket connection sends the unencrypted data to Part 2 and from there it gets written to disk.

Hexalock restricts programs that directly open the files from saving to drives, printing, or copying to clipboard hence the reason for a second half of the program -- one half opens the file and the second half saves the data unencrypted to a chosen location.

Download the proof of concept (revision 1) from http://fdghdfgh.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/dltr/down.pl?ID=1

Tell me your steps and I'll tell you where you went wrong. I can get more information in how I can better the program if you tell me what you thought you were supposed to do vs. if I just tell you what to do.

Re: hexalock

Actually, I followed the steps posted by b1gR3d on Dec 27. I had a file missing winsock file, which I downloaded from the Web. And so it worked. Many thanks!

Re: hexalock

Hi. I did it, it works. Still has password, but I can handle that. When I open the new file it opens good, it is all there, then in 10 seconds it closes and I have to reopen the pdf?

Re: hexalock

Good to hear. I wasn't sure what would have been wrong if the PDF was closing after 10 seconds. (That sounds like a totally different problem than anything having to do with HexaLock or my Proof of Concept).

Let me know if you experience any other problems. Cheers!

Re: hexalock

use a computer running xp. hexalock isn't compatable with vista from what I understand. Once you unlock your files you can view them with acrobat reader in vista.

Re: hexalock

Goldstar, thnx a lot, it works great! I could copy my 300 PDF's (0.5-40 MB) without any problems. b1gr3d's post of 29th dec on how to use the program was very helpful too.

I did occasionally get a runtime error "file already open" afterwhich the program and the HSCP.exe closed automatically. But by repeating b1gr3d's steps in these cases I could finish the job.

Many Thanks!!!!!

Re: hexalock

Good to hear that it's still working for people out there. I'm not sure why it did that in your case, but I may look into that in the future.

Re: hexalock total resolve

sorry for ingl..no speak

problem hcps loader?? no!!

link for resolve problem xp e vista!!

Known Problem: Local Administrator Privilege Required to Run HEXALOCK Protected CD’s
Affected operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP.
Problem description:
The HexaLock CD copy protection system requires direct access to CD-ROM drives in order to authenticate copy protected discs. Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems prevent applications from accessing storage devices directly if a user that does not have a local administrator privilege attempts to run them. This limitation prevents HexaLock protected CD’s from completing the disc authentication procedure. In that case, the program execution is stopped and the following message is displayed: “You must be a local administrator to run this program”.
Resolution:
There are two ways to resolve this problem. The first one is to grant local administrator privilege to the user that tried to run the protected program. The second method is designed for cases where permanently granting local administrator privilege is not desired. For these cases, HexaLock has developed a Utility that enables protected applications to run without requiring local administrator privileges. This Utility needs to be run only once with local administrator privilege enabled. Use the following instructions:
  1. Click the link below to download the Remove Rights Utility.
  2. Login to your windows OS using an account with a local administrator privilege.
  3. The Utility is compressed in a .zip archive. Extract the .zip file and run the Remove Rights Utility on the affected computer. The Utility will display a black window for a few seconds and then terminate.
  4. Restart this computer. You can now run HexaLock protected programs without local administrator privilege on this computer.

Download the Remove Rights Utility here

Known Problem: CD does not work on Vista Operating System
What is the compatibility of HexaLock protected EXE files on CD’s in the Vista Operating System?
The new Vista Operating System from Microsoft Corp. contains several operational parameters, which may create compatibility issues when running Hexalock protected CD’s on Vista enabled PC’s. Hexalock has been in close contact with Microsoft to resolve these issues, and with their help, have developed a tool that will allow CD’s containing HexaLock copy protected program EXE files to run in the Vista OS. Click on this link below to download the Vista update Utility for your AutoLock Wizard software:
