Nearly every game now does this. Have you tried the scanners on the installed .exe (SecuROM) or the disc (for error based prots)? Thanks so far

Scanned the disc or the installation directory? In no SafeDisc (or similar) on the disc or "SecuROM 4.8x" in the directory then it's Tages or StarForce

Version 1 is now released! You can get it here.

In it you can learn about SafeDisc, SecuROM and heaps of other protections and learn on how to defeat them. Also you can take a look at some of my various tutorials in it and some frequently asked questions asked. Plus heaps more!
Enjoy!

There are still some unprotected releases. For those of us from the southern states of oz, the recently released AFL Live 2004 which has sold well is unprotected as have been all its predecessors (they upgrade and release a new AFL Live version just about every year).

For more mainstream games, historically Id Software (Doom and Quake series) has seldom (never?) bothered with copy protection. True that Id doesn't release new games all that often but their most recent major release (Return to Castle Wolfenstein) was unprotected save for requiring a unique key for multi-player on-line play. In fact, you don't even need to have the cd in the drive to play after installation. It remains to be seen whether that policy will continue when the long awaited Doom 3 is released.

I Think there are 2 Finding Nemo games:

- Finding Nemo
- Nemo's Underwater World of Fun

Since they are children's games copy protection is not that vital because only young children play those games and would probably not interest the rest of us

Nope, it just stayed there on the split No copy protection is, paradoxically, the bane of our forum lives.
