Empire at War-SecuROM 7

I'm having trouble backing up my copy of Empire at War. It uses SecuROM 7.00.00.0129. I made an image of the CD with Alcohol with DPM extraction. Then I mounted it with Daemon Tools v4, but when I try to start the game it says "Emulator detected! Please deactivate virtual drive and emulation software." I also tired disabling my drives with starforce nightmare but that didn't work either. Is there some tool I can use to hide my virtual drives? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Try and run Pr0t.St0p
http://rapidshare.de/files/10107009/Pr0t.St0p.rar.html
or Securom_loader 1.0 which can be found at
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/down...tegory&catid=2

Go to device manager and disable your secondary IDE channel. It worked for me on FEAR.

Re: Empire at War-SecuROM 7

I have the problem that with DT4, Curerom 131 and AntiSecurom 1.0, the game only ran twice.

I did all the same as before, but it won't start now. It is repeating the same message: Original cd not found or could not be authenticated.

I tried all given solutions (Curerom, AntiSecurom, disable IDE-channels, emulatormode for Win 2000 etc. etc.), somebody any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Chris

This means your image has bad DPM data. You need to create a new image with DPM set at High Precision and at a low speed. That's how I made my image and it works great.

Since you've got a cd version of the game, why not just make a physical twinpeak backup copy (which works just fine with securom 7 cds, btw) instead of messing about with virtual drives, virtual drive hiding utilities, unplugging physical drives, etc, etc).

You'll find several guides on how to do so in the tutorial section .

Here's one for ya... I'm not running ANY emmulator/image software and I've got the origional CD in after a clean install and it STILL won't play! I might just take it back all together and say forget about it!

Don't be so sure. Physical modyficated image works only with chosen drives.
example:
LG GSA-4167 is unable to burn such an image. Copy will not be working in any drive.
LiteOn LTR 52327 can write image correctly and even in most of drives, disc will be authenticated successfully.

So hardware is very very important.

Re: Empire at War-SecuROM 7

Hi all,

I have Dtools 4 and curerom 2.1 it seemed to work
but after first working it refused saying on ver1.0
please insert original desk. patchign to 1.04 the msg changed
to please insert orginal disk backups arent allowed (1000)
or something like that by memory.

THe fix is quite simple.. it creates some files in your temp folder and gamedata folder that tells its a image loading.
just nee to delete them and it will fire up each time no
problems

here is a batch file I wrote.
I have game on G: drive and curerom in c drive
first you need to make a profile with curerom 2.1
to mount the image and start that game

then you need a batch file to clean up each time
and call curerom profile to start game
like so, else it might work 1 in 10 times like some reported
or not at all. of course a image MDF might help since it has
extra info over other isos.

del /f /q %temp%\*.*
del /f /q "G:\Star Wars Empire at War\GameData\*.rec"
cd "C:\Program Files\CureROM\"
c:
"C:\Program Files\CureROM\CureROM.exe" -launch "C:\Program Files\CureROM\Profiles\LaunchEAW.crp"

enjoy
P.

The best way to deal with this game is to do exactly as philamber says: Do a physical copy. I tried 1001 ways to hide my virtual drive , but it was useless . The only way I got a fully functional Backup was using Blindwrite 4.5.7(disable Autoplay in Options), burn in DAO PW at 4x, click "YES" when asked if you want to physically include BWA information. Only cd1 is protected. Also sometimes it may give you the "not original disc" msg, but dont worry, just keep trying till it reads it.
