SafeDisc® Selected For Copy and Hack Protection of Activision’s PC Game Titles

(Nasdaq: ATVI) to incorporate Macrovision’s SafeDisc® Advanced Security API’s into Activision’s PC game titles.


SafeDisc is a security solution for interactive software applications. It delivers a tenacious defense against unauthorized disc replication or code manipulation while giving maximum playability to consumers.

“Macrovision is pleased to be working with a top games publisher like Activision to fight the rampant threat of game piracy,” stated Steve Weinstein, executive vice president and general manager of Macrovision’s Entertainment Technology Group. “By working together, we are confident that Activision will be implementing the best practices in integrating powerful security with their application – this can extend the title protection and improve the revenue opportunities of legitimate game versions.”

Interesting. But the game will be the only thing to make it final.

If it is, expect a copy on my desk when it does arrive!
