CPRM (or not) drives list
I would like hereby to make a list of compatible CPRM drives/burners, you can check this with Nero infotools,
if CPRM is "checked"your drive will respond to a "tag" set by the content provider, this can happen when you record a broadcast from DTV onto a DVD-RW, or a new movie on DVD-Video your pc drive will not see this disc, a standalone
dvd player will play this disc as normal.
So, check it out ! and post brand, type and if it supports CPRM (checked) of your drive, to this thread.

This is exactly what I said... but the opposite is possible: e.g. FW 1.00 is CPRM-free while 1.01 is not.
A user could post "yeah, it is CPRM-free" having not updated to the latest firmware currently available.

YES: NEC 3500, NEC 3520, Liteon 1693, LG 4163, Liteon 167T, Liteon 16P9S

NO: BenQ 1620, AOpen 1648 AAP, Pioneer 116

I have never encountered any disc with any form of CPRM.

is the DW1650 the same as the DW 1655 as afar as CPRM is concerned, or is there some differences here ?
