Copy will not play in cd reader

I have made a copy of my battlefield 1942 disc to keep it safe.
But it will not play in my cd reader. It will play in the burener and
also the cd burner in my laptop. But will not play in my dvd drive.
The drive is a nec dv-5800a I used discdump and nero to burn the copy.

BF1942, i think that uses SD v2.9?
I maybe wrong.
Nero isnt all that good with SD protection!
Use either Alcohol 120% or BlindWrite 5!
Maybe your burner isnt capable of burning SD titles without emulation.
Try Daemon Toolz, thats good.
Or, if the emulation on that doesnt work, then try CloneCDs SD emulation.
HTT!

What happened

Tried cd-clone and alcohol 120 % and all I got were coasters.
The copy will play from my 2 burner drives but not the dvd
drive which is a nec-dv-5800a that came with my dell system.
have gone to dell and downloaded the latest frimware but
that did not help. The game will play from my burner so I can keep
the oringals safe which is what I was looking to do but was just
trying to learn how to make copys of my software that are true 1 to 1. Which my copt must not be as the oringal will work on
my dvd drive. What happens when I try the copy is I get this
error message BF1942 caused an error in BF1942.tmp
Thanks for any help you can give

Your CloneCD copy should play from your dvd so long as you have CloneCD installed on your system with hide cdr media enabled.

cloned cd

The straight cloned cd copy did not work at all when the copy was used it asked for the correct disk to be put in the drive. It
did not matter what drive I used the only only thing that has work with my drives is discdump and then burn image I have used nero because that is the burning software that came with my burner. But like I have said it only works on the burner drives.
It will play on the burner drive on my desktop but not on the Dvd -cd drive (nec DV-5800a) and it will play on cd burner drive on my laptop (unknow make in a Dell 8500 inspiron)

Would you per chance have any emulation running on your laptop?
