Conversion of protected WMA files to MP3

Hi...
Some protected albums (like the wonderful last Paul McCarney) let you burn protected WMA files to your HD. But i would like to be able to remove the protection or to convert them to other formats (like MP3) for two reasons (and it has nothing to do with sharing those files): to use the files in WinAmp with MP3 Gain. And to be able to use the songs in my home-made compilations. I can't even play the files in foobar!

Mmmm... 18 dollars... If I would have many albums to convert that way, maybe. Still, in my view, we should be allowed to convert files we bought in any format that suits our need. Therefore, i am looking for a no-cost solution.

Thanks anyway VirusHack.

Re: Conversion of protected WMA files to MP3

The no-cost method is simple loopback, setting a recording program and the mixer to record from WAVE, or from "What-U-Hear" / "Stereo mix" if recording from the wave output is not possible. This is a digital - analog - digital process, so there could be a small loss in fidelity, or much larger problem if the level is badly out.

Re: Conversion of protected WMA files to MP3

Daniusoft Digital Media Converter

do a torrent search (isohunt.com or demonoid.com)

I have 9 days left on this stupid rhapsody account, and JUST realized 5 mins ago, while in the process of downloading 600+ songs, in adddition to the 300 I already downloaded, that after I end my trial, all my songs wont play...but I just found this app and its the only one that works and converts to mp3!!!
Thank god. Now back to my 8 hrs of downloading on my mobile broadband phone. Take care!
