Me too

I copied CoD with that profile too and it works... for the UNPATCHED version. I need a method to play the game when I patched it.

I'm trying to run call of duty from an image with no luck...

Did anyone figure out how to do this with the 1.4 patch and alcohol 120% ?

TIA

Re: Call of Duty

So, do u copy both CD's using A120, or just the install one? (using the safe disc protec.)

Cant you make a direct copy of the second cd, with say Nero?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can. Only the first CD is protected.

Re: Call of Duty

Hi Masshole.

Using Alcohol 120% is a good option because it has some decent emulation options for people without a decent burner.

Make sure that if you're playing from a burner then to have 'Hide CD-R Media' option checked in Alcohol 120%.

Thanks

Re: Call of Duty

Does anyone have a definitive method of being able to play Call of Duty ( with 1.4 patch ) from an image?

Call of Duty did not work for me using A-120%'s safedisc or safedisc 2/3 profile. I tried enabling some and all of the options under emulation and extra emulation with no luck.

I am using a Samsung SC-148c for reading.

Thanks

Re: Call of Duty

Hi Mike Vink,

Have you tried mounting the image onto a virtual drive to test your image before burning?

Thanks

Re: Call of Duty

Merther... I'm not trying to burn it at all... perhaps I shold clarify.

I am trying to play call of duty with the 1.4 patch from an image.

I have unsuccesfully created a working image using Alcohol 120% 1.9.2 1705, by this I mean that it is a working image, but does not allow me to play using it. It is my understanding from other threads that Alcohol was blacklisted by the new patch. I have used the suggested methods of changing the vendor id and other such info, as well as using the latest version of A-120% to no avail.

Did I do something wrong? Can someone describe exact steps to playing CoD 1.4 from an image successfully?

Thanks

Re: Call of Duty

Well, it turns out there is nothing wrong with using A-120% and the safedisc 2/3 profile... it was actually a problem with the Game of the Year edition that I had purchased. There is a link to a patch on activision's support site to the goty fix ... sorry!

Re: Call of Duty

Hi !
Well I copy (and after that play on this copy) easily Call of Duty (Multiplayer version 1.1 and Single player version 1.0) with Alcohol 120% "2/3".

But after to have install the patch 1.4 well the Single player stop working.
Multiplayer work again since don't depends of CDs.

So what I do it is I uninstall all and install all again.
But before install the patch 1.4 I copy the files "CoDSP.exe" (C:\Program Files\Call of Duty).

So when I terminated to install the patch 1.4, I rename the file CoDSP.exe (version 1.4) and use the version 1.0 I copied earlier.
Like that I can play Single Player.

Now concerning Activision well I find Boss of this company are a lot bad.
Since WHEN we can look on personal PC of people to see what program they use ?

And have you see the Call of Duty Official site ?
Man just crap.
I really don't understand (just I understand programmer like goodies and play with them) why create a Web site with crap Macromedia Flashplayer.

Man. Have no sense.
And the official site even without Macromedia Flahsplayer is crap !
Where is forum ?
Where is support ?

I think support and forum MUST be on Official Web site of the game and not on centralized company (here Activision).

I really hope in soon future they will have new guys who create new companies cause I'm a lot tired to see so crap Big companies with any idea and want just control all and everybody !

Have nice day !

Re: Call of Duty

Hi Chaddie

This is perfectly normal since CoD is protected by safedisk 3.10 and the read errors are part of the copy protection used....the reading process will speed up once the read errors have finished, at about sector 10,000.

Hope this helps and welcome to the forums!
