Big problem with Securom7 (FEAR) 1:1

I need backup of my oryginal FEAR game without emulation RMPS.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=126424

I did everything like in tutorial above but with no success.
The problem is:
I made an image with Alcohol (newest) with DPM.
Image wokrs in virtual drive perfectly,
but then I'm making patched image with twincreator (latest a-ray version)
and image doesn't work in virtual nor burned ! ! !

Patched Image doesn't work even with different twin sector STEP (tried default 15 and other like 6 and 50)

How to make good image prepared to burn ? ? ? ? PLEASE HELP ! ! !

This is CD version.

Re: Big problem with Securom7 (FEAR) 1:1

Twinpeak patched image cannot work in a virtual drive. It must be burnt and then run from the burnt cd.

What reader/s do you have? Some don't care much for twinsector burnt cds particularly for installing rather than playing. When you say that the burnt cd fails, do you mean that it fails to install or that it fails to play once installed?

Finally, please post some samples of the .mds files that you've created and used.

Re: Big problem with Securom7 (FEAR) 1:1

reader & witer: only LG GCE-8520B (CD-RW 52x24x52 with newest firmware)
There is no problem with installation but with playin'.

Usually "Can't check protection in time limit" - after burning on CD-RW
on HD virtual (also time limit or disc couldn't be find or authenticated)

Can I use CD-RW TDK 4-12X burned with 4X ? or it works only on CD-R ?

This is mds before modification with a-ray.
It works perfectly from virtual.
I added also patched mds files ...
Attached Files

Re: Big problem with Securom7 (FEAR) 1:1

I noticed that since version 7 of securom it is much more difficult to make a 1:1 copy than before.

I usually use a plextor premium drive to do this, but the backup copy only works in 2 of my 4 drives. Up to version 6 the copy was working on all drives. So I think that Sony has updated their guard module to identify a twin peak or premium copy in version 7.

The only chance for you is to try another drive to start the backup, if you have one.

Hmm, it's a beautiful looking .mds file not like the horrid looking one that I made of the play disc (but which worked just fine, btw).

The only thing is that your mds doesn't appear to be of the F.E.A.R. play disc (cd5) at all. You see it's the wrong size.

Please make fresh .mds files of your original play disc with dpm being read at 1x, 4x and 12x and post them as attachments and I'll then look at them and let you know which of them to use.

Re: Big problem with Securom7 (FEAR) 1:1

I had problems with FEAR too, but I chose the slowest settings for DPM (1x) and Writing (8x).
It then had no problems, even after FEAR updated itself. I used an NEC ND-3540A to burn.

Weird...when I open these with BWA Builder 4 or 5, neither detects a topology. Has Alcohol changed their MDS format? What are you guys using to view it?
