Battlefront II Wont install - Club CDFreaks

I have the 3.64Gb of Alcohol 120% image and installed it to a virtual DVD and real DVD-r neither of which will allow the LaunchBFII.exe file to run. When I click it to install the game it goes to a black DOS screen for a moment then disapears. All the threads I see are for creating a copy and none for this problem (sorry if I have missed something

).

Any help would be really appreaciated

Original is fine. I just want a backup. I have lost so many games thru scratching CD/DVDs. It is not fair that you lose the game because if ****ing protection systems and poor quality disks which need to be inserted everytime you use the game. This question is related to the post Alcohol 120% image creation.

Don't know much about this stuff, there are so many protections out there (and I don't play games, so I only see audio and DVD movie protections, with which I have no problems).

The reason I asked is that if the problem occurs with the original as well, it could be a software problem..but apparently this is not the case...leaving only a problem with the protection...

Sounds to me like the LaunchBFII.exe file is damaged/corrupt in your image/burnt disc, you should make a new image/copy from the original and try installing/running the game from it.

I'm almost positive that in the BFII manual, it says that if the game disk gets scratched, you can send it in and get a free copy.

Also - I don't know HOW this worked, but it did. My brother made an image of the play disk, then INSTALLED from that emulated image. Then, he burned a copy using that image, and that copy is able to play the game!

Oh Well looks like it fux0r3d? Thanks for the help. Anyone sussed how to replace a single file in an entire DVD image?

Why not make a new image from your original disc....you do have the original dont you?

Somehow I have the feeling you don't have the original.
First you say it is fine, then you say it is damaged...what is it?

Unless you can convince me you do own the original legitimately, this topic is closed.
