Audio in Games

Hello Everybody! I have been reading the forum for quite some time and this is the first time I have a question to ask, so I registered and this is my first post!

Good job to everybody btw.

The question is: Some old games that have a soundtrack (i.e. Age of the Empires II, Total Annihilation, and others) play normaly from a burnt copy, but play without sound while in a virtual drive.

I use alcohol 120 (I am now using 52% - but I guess it's the same).

I remember that there was some kind of setting that I enabled to make the sound work - but I can't remember!

Thanks!

(Btw: When I mean soundtrack I mean that the cd has both data and audio tracks. I am sure that the Image is fine because the emulated drive playes as an audio cd in WMP and the burnt copy works)

Re: Audio in Games

I remember that you could put the game cd into a cdplayer and listen to the ingame music. Alcohol 120 lets you choose which ones to image. Can you select both?

Re: Audio in Games

Hello! Thanks for replying!

When you say that alcohol 120 lets you choose - what do you mean?

After some fooling around I saw that if the Virtual Drive is the first drive (in drive letter order) then in game music works!

Is there some kind of script to disable the physical drive?

Is there some other kind of workaround?

Thanks!
