widescreen problems

I ripped Bourne Identy to my HD with Smartripper.

Ok I used DVD2One to burn a copy, first I must say Im impressed with this program, have nothing bad to say at all.

My problem is I dont have the Widescreen i have the "TV" version (sides cut off). I "thought" i ripped the whole movie to my HD, but when I select it with DVD2ONE I get once file and cant select anything else, and the resulting burn is not Widescreen.

Anybody have suggestions or hints for me on fixing this?

thanks
Clok

Er...clok1966... you say you have the "TV" version (4:3) and are wondering why the result is still 4:3 instead of widescreen ??!

Does the DVD say "Pan & Scan"? If so, then it is not widescreen.

sorry I worded that poorly.

The DVD was Widescreen (with option to play pan and scan I think, My friend has movie at moment so I cant check).

I ripped and burned with DVD2One and i got the Pan and Scan version, Im wondering if there is some way i missed selecting the Widescreen, I can only see one movie. Im guessing I messed soemthing up in the rip or burn, Im just not sure what, was hopeing somebody could point out a place for me to look.

Once again I must say this program is unreal! it works very well.

DVD's I've seen that support both are usually two-sided (full sceen on one side and widescreen on the other - marked in red).

I've also seen them on one DVD. After copying the DVD to your harddrive with DVDDecrypter or Smartripper, try playing a vob file with your software DVD player and determine which set is which (P&S/WS). Move the IFO and vobs to another directory and specify this new directory for DVD2ONE>

@clok1966

I was under the impression the Bourne Identity came in two different DVDs/options: either 16:9 or 4:3.

Are you sure you aren't mistaking the anamorphically stretched 16:9 film with 4:3? Are you checking the burned DVD on your stand alone player/TV ?
