a version that does generic mpeg 2 processing

Either a command line version, one that does command line modifiers, or a gui version.

Its a good tool for general mpeg 2 shrinking, but to use it for that, the long way around has to be used to get it to work.

If it were possible to pass command line options to the program, or a different version used just for mpeg2 file resizing.

With a few options 50%, simple halving the size, 66%,75%, and a 'make fit' with a target file size.

as in...

dvd2one "file in.mpg" "file out.mpg" -h

would process it intending to halve the size.

I assume it would leave any chaptering alone in this processing, and pass the sound through. maybe sound modifiers -ac3 -st would pass through the sound formats, or -sa for all sound tracks.

the current functioning may or may not survive, but it does a great job on simple mpeg 2 recompression.

I would love to run it on 40 gig of hundreds of mpeg 2 files I have, and shrink them all by a third.
