I am having a similar problem. After DVD2one codes, the software I'm using to burn is saying there's not enough disk space. Both ULEAD Movie Factory 2 and NEO DVD report file size as 4.4GB and eject the disc saying not enough space. I think these progs must add something because DVD2one says the file is approx 4.3GB

I've used the workaround posted in this forum using Chopper to cut the excess at the end of the last VOB(credits) and it brought the file size to approx 4.3 and burned fine. I'm also going to try RecordNow Max to see how it handles the filesize so I don't have to take that extra step editing the VOB.

DVD2one is a very cool piece of software, I've only burned 3 movies so far but they all work fine on my standalones and the quality is damn good.

Also, regarding the issue as to whether the AUDIO_TS folder is needed, I'm not sure because I've burned a movie with and without it and it works with no prob. I think I'll take the advice of another poster and play it safe, I'll include a AUDIO_TS folder.

So far DVD2one rules!!!

Finished the burn using RecordNow Max and no prob with file size. It burned cleanly and works in all my standalones. RecordNow seems like a solid product.

So, it's DVD Decrypter, DVD2one and RecordNow Max for nice quality DVDs in a relatively short time on just one disk. Hard to beat right now.

Sweet

Minority Report

- Ripped Minority Rpt using DVD Decrypter IFO mode. stripped out unwanted audio & subtitle streams.

- Then used Ifoedit to create new IFO files (oh yes, did Get VTS Vectors, etc). Total size of the movie is now 6.02GB

- Ran DVD2One. The resulting file size is 5.38GB (1 GB over the DVD-R size).

May be DVD2One doesnt like IFO files created Ifoedit.

any thoughts?

I am going to retry but using File mode in the DVDDecrypter.

why not just try ISO mode in dvddecrypter ?
your gonna edit out the streams and subs in dvd2one anyways
simply load up the dvddecrypter iso in daemontools and then run it through dvd2one
should get you nice results
But do think that when you select multiple audiostreams that final result will be bigger, just select only the 5.1 english maybe ?

Ripping

No need to mount in daemon, just rip disc using DVD Decryper in file mode & point DVD2One to the directory/folder containing ripped files.

Ripped Vanilla sky & kept both english language tracks (Coz I like my commentaries!) after DVD2One did its' stuff size was still within dvdr limit.

This Program rocks!!

Minority Report

Redid the rip with dvddecrypter using file mode.

processed the output files with dvd2one.

resulting file size: 4.37GB!!!!

cant believe it.

Moral of the story: dont use IFO mode and preprocess treams, create new ifo files in ifoedit and run dvd2one.

keep it simple. use file mode & use dvd2one.

Yeah, I can 100% confirm that. I ripped Signs (RC2) and stripped some languages and subtitles with IFOEdit, created new IFOs with IFOEdit an sent the whole stuff thru DVD2one. Result: 5,8 GB. And that's outta question far too big for a DVD-R. ;-)

I re-ripped the whole stuff and did stream processing with DVD2one: everything works fine, final size was sth. about 4,35 GB.

So what do we learn? DVD2one is buggy on working with IFOs created by IFOEdit. Simply rip the whole DVD and do the stripping stuff with DVD2one itself. That'll work ... :-)

ok for those who have had the same problem, I finally found the way out...

if by any chance dvd2one makes a too large file size, you can always split the last vob with "vobplit" free on the net. You can easyly delete a few Mo's in the credits in the end.

After that open ifoedit, take you VTS.IFO file and "get vts sectors" after that you should be able to burn

also, u should try to re-re-encode. take the 4.4GB video and process it thru dvd2one. may be it will shrink it to 4.36GB. all it takes is 20 min anyway. worth trying.

re-rencode

Yeah - if you re-re-encode it solves the problem of "Too Big"
Anybody know why it doesnt creat 4.36gb in the first instance?

gear pro had no problems, but you have to have a good dvd-r or dvd+r disc(not any of the cheap crap) only burned at 1 speed thou
no problems sorted plays on a cyberhome, aiwa, toshiba and ferguson standalone

i have a post in the cd and dvd media section about this

burn speeds ect and media quality

The audio_ts folder is for DVD-Audio and is not used for movies.

ciao
