Stargate & U-571

Hello to all,

Got U-571 running overhere.
Multiple titles in 2 .VOB's:

- VTS_07_1 & 2 & 3
- VTS_08_1 & 2 & 3

Just ripped these .vob's and their ifo's and bup's to HD and the VIDEO_TS.IFO / BUP and VOB.
Then did a streamstrip of the 07 and 08 VOB's to 2 separate directory's.
Then I used Derrows method (of a flip disc) to join the the vob's and let Ifoedit create new ifo's for it.
After that -> GET_VTS Sectors and started up DVD2One.
Looks great on computer and TV screen without any problems !

The only problem still is with Stargate.
How must I describe it !!??
After the DVD Decrypter procedure in pure file mode, started up DVD2One.
When done viewed the movie with Power DVD XP 4.0 and every 5-10 seconds the movie twitches or maybe frame drop outs.
It's not the computer overhere, every other movie so far went fine and I already e-mailed Erwin abouit it.
Have tried several thing to solve it, but no luck.

Movie: Stargate (Dutch, Region 2)
Standalone: Sony NS705V
Writer: Pioneer 104 (firmware 1.40)
Burining Software: Nero 5.5.10.7b
Problem: Twiches every 5-10 seconds (maybe frame drop-outs?)

Well that's it, best greetz to all,

Lenco

In the Bedroom

I have tried to backup this movie but after I decode the data DVD2ONE gives me an error stating that it can not work with encrypted data.
I looked at the data in ifoedit and there is multiple branching in the movie apparently.

I tried DVDXCOPY and it did not work either. Very odd.

The movie is the US version.

Thanks

Independance day

Hi,

* Independance Day (Belgium, region 2)

problem:

This is the special edition version. The disc contains both the theatrical version and the extended version (9 extra mins).

I rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter (full disk)

Then I run running DVD2ONE (selecting the extended version), English language, Dutch sublang.

When I play the result on the computer, it somehow loops. Playing 2 secs of one sequence, then 2 of another, then the next 2 secs of the first, etc...

Tried several things like IFOUpdate, IFOEdit (get VTS Sectors) but don't find a solution.

Cheers

This might work

I have ripped Independence Day (USA R1) and this is the method i used to encode it with DVD2one.

1. Full rip with DVD Decrypter in file mode.
2. Start up ifoedit and load the main movie ifo (mine was VTS 4). Press VOB Extras and select everything in the options box but remux, then put a check in the "Remove Seamless Br." box and select the title you want to keep ( i kept the special edition, use the movie length to determine which one is which). Select a destination, and press ok. I also stripped audio and subtitle tracks here, but you can do it with DVD2one later. Then press ok and it will select the proper VOB-IDs for you then press next and it will remove the seamless branching for you.
3. Now you can use DVD2one normally on the files that ifoedit created.

I hope this helps you guys with your seamless branching problems. Hopefully the DVD2one team will include a feature to do this internally in the next release.

back to the future II

Having a problem processing this dvd.

Ripped using sr backup mode
select movie and english sound only

dvd2one generates an error and shuts down after 12%

The program did this before on other titles. I assumed that I had a system problem and rebuilt the system(mb, processor and ram). Did a full xp pro reload all patches etc.

Any ideas?

4 georgio:

I think may be an 'unofficial' bug in DVD2one:

The error handling system don't work correctly under win xp pro; when found corrupted data in video stream, an exception error 5 was generated and program crash.

4 Erwin:

I wait for bugfix in next release

Georgio:

I have ripped the Back To The Future Trilogy using DVDdecrypter. Then transcoded using dvd2one. No problems here. Maybe you got a bad rip. Is your copy newer or older.

Jackie Brown region 4 dvd.

Ripped with Dvd Decrytper.
Dvd2one
Burnt on Pionner 05
Software - Record now max 4.50
Dvd-r - Bulkpaq Green

I tried the above procedure on two backups and they would both lockup on my Pionner 737 and Pionner 919.

The first lockup would allways happen 29 secs into the film but you could forward the movie and it would play on but a lockup would happen at many points in the film say every 1-2 minutes.

After my two failed copies I started again and ripped the movie again etc and burnt onto dvd-r but yet again the same lockups occured.

One strange point though is that this disc will play on my Sony 725 player.
The Sony reaches 29 secs and you can see it jerk for a split second but it manages to pass the point where the Pioneer players stop.

I have backed up approx 10 other films and they have all played fine using the same methid and media.

First off i don't have this dvd or even the R1 version of it to test this, but apparently the problem is the movie, not DVD2one. It has something to do with the warner bros logo at the start of the film. I don't know the whole story, but a quick search of some other forums yielded some ideas to the cause of your problem.

What you have to do to fix it is to use IFOedit to remove the first VOB-ID (Warner Logo) from the main movie. This should be pretty straight forward for most users just see my post about Independence Day and forget the Seamless branching stuff, strip out the unwanted streams of audio/subtitles, and then when it gives you a list of VOB-IDS to keep just uncheck next to VOB-ID 1.

I hope this fixes your problem, I know it is alot of "extra" work but maybesome this feature will be added to dvd2one day.

Farscape Box Set

Farscape Box Set (english)
JVC
Nero 5.5.10 Fuji
Problem: I can only put one episode per dvd, unlike the original with two episodes

I believe that prog wasn't designed to copy two title sets?
Maybe It will in new version.
Hope to see it soon.
No other problems wonderful prog.
Thanx

Warner bro

Hi,
I backed up a lot of movies, also with the know WB-logo issue.

The problem whith these movies is that the logo-movie is not of the same type as the main movie.
As i remember correctly it's something like that the logo is progressive and the main-movie is interlaced.
But i can be wrong (correct me please)

But... when i used a movie whith the WB logo, dvd2one just cut it out and got rid of that part. So i had no problems.

There is a prog. you can try in conjunction w/dvd2one called makeiteasy, if you go to the www.doom9.org board you can find it and how to use it, this (think) will allow you to two episodes on a disc. Or you can do it by authoring a new disc and sending it through dvd2one.
