DVD2One Discuss, Movie size DVD2one at Copy Movie forum; Perhaps someone could answer this: Just been using the new version of DVD2one with interesting results on a 5.24gb DVD. Without the menus the original film is 3.10gb. So first I used DVD95 copy to get the film to one disc and that gave me a finished size

Movie size DVD2one

Just been using the new version of DVD2one with interesting results on a 5.24gb DVD.

Without the menus the original film is 3.10gb.

So first I used DVD95 copy to get the film to one disc and that gave me a finished size of 3.83gb.

Then I used DVD2one on full film and the finished disc size was 4.36gb.

But here the interesting part the size of the film done with DVD95copy was 3.02gb and DVD2one was 2.60gb

My point is why didnt DVD2one allocate more gb to the movie, and the settings where default, if you have used these then you would at least know something about the progs, and know something about the compression ratio. Like how do you set them in DVD95 copy and DVD2one, the only one I know where compression ratios can be set is DVDshrink.

Obviously you dont know the answer, and there is a difference between a point and a question, as my opening remarks asked a question.

pothole.

I don't know which version of DVD95 you were using, but you can usually influence the compression of various parts of the DVD with this program.

DVD2One compresses all parts (main movie and extras) equally except where audio tracks are dropped. The space so released is then allocated to the main movie only.

If you repeat the exercise, taking careful note of the settings you use with both programs and the titles, tracks, etc. that you drop, you will probably have a clearer understanding of how the disparity arises.
