More than just DVD mpegs

There are other sources of mpeg 2 media than just DVD's.

Dish PVR's record mpeg 2, and modified dish network 7100 and 501 receivers can have the drive removed for copy on a computer.

dvd2one does a fine job on compressing these files as well.

How do you use dvd2one 2 encode other mpeg2 streams?
If you could list a few steps id really appreciate it.

Use an authoring program like DVD Movie Factory (2) to convert the MPEG2 to DVD VOB files (assuming they were created with DVD vertical and horizontal resolution and 48K audio.
Then downsize them with DVD2ONE

There is how you rip streams from dish network receivers.

after the file is extracted from the PVR drive and what ever more you do with it.
you run it through ifoedit and have it rebuild the ifo's
run The results through dvd2one

How you combine vob streams is you match the names sequentially.
Vts_01_4.vob
Vts_01_5.vob
etc... I'm not sure what happens after 9

When the names work, you use create ifo in ifoedit on them, and with luck it will correctly tie the whole stream together as one set.

run that through dvd2one, and it'll make it fit on one disk.

Be sure you check the total program time and see that it is all the shows combined.

The renumbering approach is how I combined 2 simpsons dvd 9 dvd's onto 1 dvd-r.. there were some compression artifacts, but its a cartoon.

I also highly recommend DVDMF ver. 2. It's very stable, intuitive and fast.
