I want Subs, but not automaticly on? How can i keep subtitles, but not have them start when the movie does. I only want them as the film uses them when people speak in a differnt language, but i dont want them to start from the beginging. How can i keep them, but disable them? Thanks much. ![]()

One of my players does this, starts with subs on, Yamada, my others, Mico's are fine. I just select subs off on the remote as soon as it plays, it still shows the the forced ones that you want. The Yamada seems to learn though, as the next time that same DVD goes in, it works correctly.

Yeah, i guess its just as easy to turn the subs off once the film starts, but i was just seeing if they could be turned off. So is it my DVD player thats turning the subs on automaticly is it? why does this happen, as they dont automaticly come on with the orgional films?

I totally agree, having to press a button on the remote is a lot easier than all the work I had to do before. Some originals are funny about subs. I've just tried The Mummy and that's the opposite, I have to deliberately select them ON for the forced subs. On going back to the original DVD, it's that, it only works if it plays and you don't hit stop. If you do, bo more subs unless you unload and start again, so it's how the original is set up.

Folks, I did a guide over at Doom9. Look in my tips section for SubTitles (On/Off) by Default. Here is the link > 2COOL's Cheat Sheet List

This tends to happen on both my Dansai 852 and Samsung 511 players but only when there are no PGC Commands for the main film. No offense 2COOL, you've done some stirling work and I've picked up a few tips and insights myself from your guides but some people might find it easier to follow the thread at http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....threadid=63693 for this paricular problem. Read the thread there to get some background info (which also explains about the use of IFOedit 0.94 and NOT 0.95 for this task) or feel free to go straight to my rough 'n' ready guide @ http://uk.geocities.com/jpitts_sc As you'll appreciate, this ISN'T as complete a solution as 2COOL's but does work in most instances ![]()
