Basically I'm unable to rip in DMA mode using DVDDecryptor 3.1.4. , if I do then DVD 2one (any recent version) quits.if i change to PIO only then DVD2ONE works as it should.

Ive tried updating my BIOS
Defragmented my harddrives

XP-Pro?
Sony firmware?
Dvd-rom aboard?
DVDD 3.1.4.0, right? In File-mode (SelectAll, or just highlighted)?
Full, or movie-only?

I was ripping at 1.6 speed with the Sony but lusting after 2 speed . In a fit of desparation I managed to borrow an ASUS dvd rom drive

wow....why didnt I try this before. This thing tops 8 speed (avarage 6.5) and the best part is DVD2ONE likes it.
The best way forward for me now is to buy a separate drive for ripping.
It still leaves me with an issue with the Sony burner but its something I can live with until I can find a proper Firmware upgrade.
