| So far it looks that way to me! Quote:
Under the "updated" method, you are ripping the MOVIE ifo's, which for each movie the aspect ration is specified. The menu files are 4:3, but do cause a switch upon the selection of MOVIE ONE or TWO. I hope this answers your question. dvdmanDAVE Fight disease! Join the GRID!Last edited by dvdmanDAVE; 25-05-2003 at 07:24.

| @ dvdmanDAVE Hi m8 Just tried your method with a couple of Disney films for the kids. Worked a treat, no problems at all. It's certainly a lot quicker than demuxing all the files and running them through SpruceUp. Thanks a lot for the time & effort you've put in on this.

| 2 movies on one DVDR 1. Rip the DVD's (movie only in IFO mode) using DVD Decrypter. 2. Compress using ReDVD to fit both on a 4.7 GIG disk. 3. Import into your favorite authoring program for a simple 2 click menu (SpruceUP for beginners) 4. Burn 5. Done 6. Enjoy I've done this many times with episode DVD's like The Sopranos. |

| You are only importing the Main movie PGC at it's associated audio stream from DVD decrypter. DVD Decrypter: 1. Launch DVD Decrypter and select the DVD drive that has the DVD you want to rip. 2. Change the mode to IFO. It automatically select the main PGC. (verify by the length of the movie, ie [1:47:17] one hour, 47 minutes and seventeen seconds. 3. Once PGC is selected, click on the stream processing tab and check the enable stream processing box. 4. Highlight the Video and check Demux. 5. Hightlight the Audio and check Demux. 6. Click the Decrypt button to start the ripping. This will rip a MV2, AC3 and an IFO. 7. Rename the MV2 and AC3 so they have the exact same name. 8. You need to shrink the 2 Video files(MV2) to around 2GIG by using ReMPEG. 8. Use the link below to figure out the scale factor for ReMPEG http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/Files/bitrat...rateCalc2.html 9. Use ReMPEG2 1.5.2 to shrink the MV2 file to 2 GIG from the scale factor specified from the above calculator. Do the same for the other DVD PGC You should be left with 2 MV2's and 2 AC3's that equal 4+ GIG. 10. Import the 2 MV2 into SpruceUp and as long as the name are the same, it will also import the AC3. You can tell by the Speaker symbol attached to the MV2 file in SpruceUp. 11. Make a Menu, and burn. Other sources of imformation: http://www.dvd2dvdr.com/DVD-R_2_DVD-R.htm |

| As others have stated, you have a few choices of progs that will accept your movies in VOB form and give you a menu. BTW, Ulead DVD Movie Factory is nice but it doesn't do AC3. 1. Vegas 4.0 with DVD Architect. -a bit of a steep learning curve on Architect and the whole package is fairly expensive. 2. NEODVD Plus.- very inexpensive, approx $45-50 U.S. As a matter of fact I'm putting 2 movies with a menu together as I write. It's very easy to use, it'll even burn the disc if you choose. It has one limitation though, while it WILL allow AC3 Dolby output, you are limited to AC3 2 channel. You may get it to work with Dolby 5.1 but the results are not guaranteed. 3. TMPGEnc DVD Author.- fairly inexpensive, around $75 U.S. and easy to use. This one has no limitations on the AC3 but it is very fussy as to what DVD compliant files it will accept. The "fussiness" revolves around video size and also audio streams within the files you are using to compile your DVD. Also, I found that if I compiled a DVD with it that was too bigand THEN tried to put it into DVD2One to shrink it, DVD2One wouldn't accept it. However, there were no probs with DVD Author accepting DVD2One movies that were "shrunk". For me I've been successful using both NEODVD Plus and TMPGEnc according to the situation. Hope that helps. | i managed to do this with your file with no problems... I was wondering if there was a way to change the look of the menu in any software but keep the same way you have done this menu as in i can then just add my 2 films, change the menu titles and then burn it off. This would be cool if i could do it, but i am new to all this dvd stuff and am not to sure what the best way is to edit the menu. Sentinel |

| If I was a little better at programming I could prolly do it, I have no idea how they take my .bmp menu picture and turn it into a VOB....I know the picture is only in the VTS_01_0.VOB but I dont know how to replace it. That was my first intention is to use the title as a button ![]() seemed to work quite good today ...but there are a few bugs that need to be ironed out...and it has next to nothing for error checking... ![]() Stevo |

| Change menu? Thanks again to everyone who has tried and used my simple menu setup. In response to those who want to know if the menu can be changed, I don't think so. I could remake the menu set, and may do so in the future, but, it does what I started this thread for. For now that is about all I was after. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....807#post423807 for the latest update. dvdmanDAVE Fight disease! Join the GRID! |

In the updated instruction set it's not needed. ifoEDIT is the tool to use. Reference this: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....807#post423807 and this: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread....508#post424508 dvdmanDAVE P.S. About "remaking" the simple menu thingie I made: 1. Using the updated instructions, has anyone had a problem? 2. If I were to author another "version": generic background, colors, etc. (suggestions?) 3. If I do 2, above, should I name the darn thing, and what name? 4. About 3...Please post here in the forum, not via PM's, TIA Fight disease! Join the GRID!

| I may suggest using a good DVD Authoring program which there seems to be a few good ones out there, myself I have been using TMPGEnc DVD Author, which I believe there is a link for in the tools section on the left Following is the way that I have been putting 2 movies on 1 DVD: 1st: I process both movies with D21 113 movie only set at 2222mb and I only select the 6ch audio. [after processing with D21 each movie equals approx 2.17gig] 2nd: I then start TMPGEnc DVD Author and import both movies each to there own track you can then create some really nice menu's and even change the chapter points [NOTE: With TMPGEnc DVD Author you can import VCD, SVCD or DVD and create a compliant DVD] 3rd: I then open NERO and select DVD iso/udf mode and import the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders created by TMPGEnc DVD Author and burn Hope this helps....... |

| @dvdfreak123 Thank you... this is a quick and easy way to do 2 movies on 1 DVDR. Only have one problem; TMPGEnc doesn't support subtitles... (I'm Norwegian and are used to subtitles). I asked TMPGEnc Support about this, and here's the reply: "...It is our plan to support subtitles in a future version of DVD Author. However, when it will available I am not able to say." So untill then.... But thanx anyway dvdfreak123 for a easy way to make a 2 movies DVDR with menu... |

| Hello all: I am new at this, and just recently purchased dvd2one, specifically to back up 2 dvds into one. I was able to back up a couple of movies, but then when I tried backing up 2 more films, I receive the following message from Tmpeg author: The combined bit rate of the clip exceeds the upper limit for a standard DV" . "Current bit rate is 9800 for V and 384 for audio, and 10184 kbps combined. It is necessary a combined bit rate of less than 9848" My question is, how do I reduced the bit rates to the standard number? I am using DVD decrypter, then dvd2one, then I am combining both files with Tmpeg author, and that is when I run into the problem mentioned above. Thanks for your advice Totonho03 |

| To dvdmanDAVE: I believe that I am following your method correctly, downloading the exe. files to one folder, running it and ending up with several vts_01 files. Then I bring the 2 movies already recompressed, without the vts files, to the folder where the exe files are. Then I run IFOedit, get the VTS sectors, as per your instructions, but when I try to burn the new file with Nero, I receive a message stating that the files are not DVD compliant. I am presently using the computer to back up one movie, but as soon as it is over, I will re-run your method and will post my results. By the way, I also get a non compliant message when I run the Tmpegauthor software to back up these movies into one dvd. (Please refer to a previous posting regarding such non compliant message) Thanks Totonho03 |

| 2in1 Hello dvdmanDVE: I have tried your method again, and again I was not able to burn both movies into 1 dvd. Same message. I can backup the dvds individually, but am not able to put 2 movies in 1 dvd following your script. Are you by any chance working on a detailed guide? Thanks |

| 2 to 1 Hello all: I appears that I am the only one posting here....However, I have received a couple of PMs answering some of my questions, and I thank you for that. Good news: I am now backing up 2 dvds in one disc, thanks to dvdmanDAVE. The menus do work. Only if I could change the "movie 1" and "movie 2" for the name of the actual movies......... But do not know how to do that.......... Thanks Totonho03 |

I'm glad that you were able to make it happen, the getting two movies on one DVDR. You cannot change the titling in my simple menu. At least, as far as I know you can't. I could make a simple menu for every pair of movies, but that wouldn't be simple. You may PM me about options for the titling, if you wish. dvdmanDAVE Fight disease!
