Re: 2 movies on one DVDR

I wanted to add a easy and quick way to make your own menu with dvdmanDAVE steps .

Your going to need to have SVCD2DVD full version , i'am not sure if the demo version offers the menumaker but u can check and report back .

To make your own customizable menu

Make 2 10MB mpg files (doesnt matter whats on the mpg)

Step one
1. import mpgs into svcd2dvd
2. make 2 VTS file (1 for each mpg)
3. make your menu for your 2 movies using menumaker
4. process the files , it will take under 10 mins , after its done save the movieDVD.mpg files svcd2dvd created for future use (doing this will speed up the procces down to seconds)
5. save VIDEO_TS files that svcd2dvd created delete and VTS_01 and VTS_02 files

okay now u have your title menu for your movies in a directory all by themselves

Step two: Use your favorite decrypter to copy MOVIE files
to your HDD (use separate directories for each movie),
include the movie's ifo file. Get vts sectors with IFOedit.

Step three: Run DVD2ONE on each movie, selecting ONLY
one audio stream and outputting to another empty directory.
(If you select more than one audio stream you WILL degrade
the VIDEO quality) Set the output size to 2048.

Step four: DELETE VIDEO_TS files in each new DVD2ONE
directory, leave MOVIE ONE at VTS_01* and rename MOVIE TWO to VTS_02*...

Step five: COPY (or move, if you're brave) the DVD2ONE
processed (and renamed) files to the directory created in
step one.

Step six: Open the IFO's in the step one folder with IFOedit,
and get vts sectors.

Step seven: Test your creation with a software DVD player,
opening the VIDEO_TS file.

Step eight: If the test is successful, BURN IT! If not post what
happened here:

Props go dvdmanDAVE without your steps i would be lost and still reading all over the internet ....

Re: 2 movies on one DVDR

I have a flipper where the movie is on one side and the xtras are on the
other. I tried to use the method presented here (dvd's) but something get's screwy with the ifos.

Is this method only good for combining two titles on a sinlge dvd without the xtras? Space-wise everything should fit on one with minimal quality loss (It's about 4.7 Gb total).

Is there a way to combine both of these sides using DVDShrink 3.2 and still keep *everything* intact, including the menus?

I forgot to mention that this movie has two titles for the first side and two on the second disk.

Re: 2 movies on one DVDR

Dear dvdmandave.....I have had some success with your tutorial for putting a Menu on a single DVD....that has two movies on it. The problems:
1. I was able to download 2m1dvdm2-1.rar.....then do all the steps you recommended and all worked out beautifully....However, i noticed the following here
A. There were no Chapters....what should i have done??
B. One either movie is selected and then ends....DVD Player shuts off....must start
Must start program again and then select the second movie in order to view it.
Can this be corrected so that when one movie ends it goes back to your Menu??
C. I is at all possible to change the text "Movie 1" and "Movie 2" to the actual names
of the movies that I'm doing the backup ???
2. When I tried to download 2M1DVDRM.rar , it says I have incorrect password...I used
the identical password (all lower case): dvdmandave..........Please advise

Thank you so much for this program and all your advise.......tomlomeo

Re: 2 movies on one DVDR

Sorry for entering in the discussion, I'm rather a newbie, here, but on http://www.dvdshrink.info/splitting-v2-3.php I read that old DVDShrink 2.3 has a button named 'start/end' which allows to encode (with zero compression) a ripped DVD9 in two DVD5, so you can but part of the movie + all extras on the 1st DVD5 and the remaining part on the movie on the 2nd one (or vice versa).
The tool seems quite interesting, apart the ripping part which will be of course to be done with something else (DVDFab, AnyDVD..).
The only drawback I found was that, on a DVD, I sew that the 'main movie' was on Title 1 and Title 3 (5.5 Gb each) so I was rather surprised (even if DVD Decrypter, on IFO mode, poined the first one to be the main movie, maybe the other is the same video with different comments as audio track - both IFOs contain apparently the same languages and audio type - maybe the it's the conteint the one which is different).
What do you think about it?
If interested, v2.3 in on http://www.temporale.net/DVDShrink23.asp (italian site, click on 'SCARICA', that is on http://www.temporale.net/dvdshrink23.zip)

Re: 2 movies on one DVDR

Sorry, I looked badly the present version of DVDShrink. Also in the last version, that is on v3.2 , on Re-author mode you can see the 'Start/end frames' button, you can use to split a DVD9 on 2 DVD5 with no comopression.

You can put 2+ dvds with menus and original navigation onto one disk using Merge feature of DvdReMake: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_merge_full.php

How to put two movies and a menu on one DVD-R

I read this here thread a few days back when I got interested on trying to learn how to put 2 movies on 1 DVD-R "Man theres a lot to learn"
So much to Learn that I thought I'd post this here incase there is another person like Me who just has a hard time learning how to use all those editing & authoring tools not to mention bitrates & the like. Anyhow I feel I got lucky in finding a tool that allowed Me (a newbie)to put 2 movies on 1 DVD-R with a menu so very easily & so I want to pass it on.

I was able to put Apocalypto & Nacho Libre with a menu on 1 DVD-R(DVD-5) without any atrifacts or anomolies & this is what My menu looks like http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...Xproject-1.jpg
After reading & trying different tools for weeks that I couldn't master,I found a tool that takes the following file types avi/mov/wmv/asf/avs/vdr & converts them to DVD,then it auto-builds a menu,auto-calculates Bitrates & all that jazz & places it all in a neat folder ready to Burn.
Now keep in mind I'm just learning to use this tool
But I'm hoping to find that this tool will allow one to work with Vob's that one has decrypted & extracted from a DVD,as I'm sure anyone who's Genius enough to create such an automated Frontend will surely have included this option into their tool. But untill one learns how to launch this tool with VOB's, they could take the quick step of converting the extracted VOB's over to AVI & then start the automated Tool.
Why would one do that You ask?
Because it's all automated & it has to start with one of thee aforementioned file types to My knowledge. But it also meens the tool will do everything for You. All You have to do is point it towards 2 or 3 AVI files & push(Generate DVD) & it takes it from there. It will do all the placing & renaming of the Vob's,Editing of the IFO's,Authoring of a Menu,Calculating Bitrate's,Shrinking or Compressing Video,Synching or Fixing Sound, ect & it use's ImgBurn so You don't have to create an iso/img You can burn straight from the VIDEO_TS folder in Build Mode.
So to a Guy who don't know how to do the steps listed above the quick step of converting extracted VOB's to AVI is well worth it.
But as I said I'm just learning to use this tool & You may find that it will indeed launch via VOB's. You will just have to check it out.

It's a Free Gui for free video tools: http://favcfavc.googlepages.com/home
AC3Fix,Aften,Avisynth Plugins,Avs2Avi,BatchMux, DGPulldown, HCenc, ImgBurn,Mencoder,mkisofs,MKVtoolnix,MultiCoreEnc,MuxMan,QuEnc,twoLAME,SubtitleCreator,Trac kBar,Wavi.
The good news is with a simple Drag & Drop & the push of a button You can accomplish what it is Your wanting to do & it's Free
Good Luck
~X~
