| 1 Source/1 Dest. Disk? Will placing your source folder & destination folder on separate hard drives quicken DVD2One processing time?(assuming of course that both drives would be of comparable speed). I am currently placing both on the same drive & am getting slower transcoding times than some...Life As A House...rip 14min...DVD2One 50min...burn 35min. |

| Note that this may only be effective if those two harddisks are on seperate ports of the controller. The bus seems to be saturated if they are on the same. I tried the 2-harddisk approach, but saw no significant speed-up (both HDs hanging on the same IDE port). I haven't had the time to swap ports around... Concerning the wear on the mechanics, I doubt that it has too much of a negative effect. Provided you don't transcode 24/7... but that's just my opinion. |
